Taste of Bethesda returns to downtown Bethesda's Woodmont Triangle this October 5, 2013. Organizer and sponsor Bethesda Urban Partnership has just unveiled this year's participating restaurants and their menus.
Bethesda's biggest annual event takes place between 11 AM and 4 PM that Saturday, along Norfolk, Fairmont, St. Elmo, Cordell and Del Ray Avenues.
Of special note are several restaurants that opened since last year's event, or are participating for the first time:
Most anticipated is the currently-under-construction rooftop restaurant, Roof. Roof's Taste of Bethesda offerings give a hint that the new restaurant's menu will derive some of its flavors from fire and smoke, with grilled sea scallops and grilled pork belly to be served.
Other newcomers include:
4935 Bar & Kitchen:
Pork wings, 4935 sliders.
Himalayan Heritage:
Vegetable momo & chicken momo (Napalese dumplings), vegetable samosa, gobi manchurian, chicken tikka masala, chana masala, tandoori chicken, chicken curry
Kadhai:
Chicken Makhani, Palak Paneer, Chana Masala, rice, samosas
The Parva:
Empanadas, Patacon wafers, arroz con pollo, passion fruit rosé, risotto de quinoa, Tres Leches cake
Smoke BBQ:
Pork sliders, chicken sliders, macaroni and cheese, ribs, lemonade and funnel cake
Share Wine Lounge & Small Plate Bistro:
Sticky Ribs, blackened shrimp and scallops, avocado bruschetta
