Farmer's Market dinner series launches Wednesday at City Perch (Photos)

Most restaurants these days talk about using local farm produce. Starting tomorrow, July 22, City Perch at Pike & Rose will be taking it a step further. Each month through September, they'll be hosting a Farmer's Market Dinner at the restaurant, which is located above the iPic Theaters at the new Federal Realty development in the Pike District.
Executive Chef
Matt Baker
Your host will be City Perch's executive chef, Matt Baker. A four-course meal will consist of dishes prepared from local farm ingredients, and will include optional wine pairings if you wish. Farms being sourced from include Northern Neck Fruits and Vegetables, Heritage Farms, The Chef’s Garden, Border Springs Farm, and Anson Mills.

Among the dishes on the menu tomorrow night? Sweet Corn and Crab Agnolotti with fava bean puree, pickled Fresno chilies, chive blossoms and chervil; and Roasted Border Springs Farm Lamb Loin with braised rainbow Swiss chard, Carolina gold rice, caramelized eggplant jam, roasted red pepper gel and sherry gastrique.

The four-course tasting is priced at $50 per person (excluding tax & gratuity), with an optional wine flight available for an additional $30. With only 50 seats available, advance reservations are required (raasikh.muhammad@ipic.com/301-231-2310).

If Wednesday's dinner sells out before you get a seat, you can also reserve for the next two dinners on August 26 and September 23.
