Sidewalk work in Bethesda's Woodmont Triangle (Photos)

A lot of fencing made an unannounced appearance along Norfolk Avenue in Bethesda's Woodmont Triangle on Monday. Parking meters were removed along the same stretch.

Yesterday, it turned out that two more sidewalk refurbishment projects are underway - one there at Norfolk between Cordell and Del Ray, and another along the south side of Fairmont Avenue. On Fairmont, there are wooden planks leading to the doors of affected businesses there.

These are likely tied to the 7770 Norfolk development, just as the Bainbridge Bethesda project contributed to improving other nearby sidewalks to the Bethesda Streetscape standards. That includes the distinctive brick pavers you find elsewhere around the downtown.
