CrossFit Bethesda has opened in the renovated building at 4848 Cordell Avenue in downtown Bethesda. The new studio is part of Tough Temple CrossFit, which also has a Rockville location.
Classes and one-on-one instruction are both available. The building was transformed from a Catholic Charities men's shelter to a retail space by the architecture firm of Steven J. Karr, AIA, Inc. You can take a virtual tour of CrossFit Bethesda on the firm's website.
There is a public parking lot right next to the studio.

Dyer, do you think this is a temporary tenant to fill the space? Ideally a bar would be going in here, but its nice its not vacant. Can you release the information about the prospective tenant that was rumored to tie into the mural?
The information about the tenant which the mural was supposedly painted for was never shared with me. It was an anonymous commenter who referred to that, and I asked him to email me to share the info privately, and he never did. I probably spent a couple of hours total trying to research restaurant and bar chains that had a Las Vegas theme, just to try to track that down at the time.
This is the building with the odd mural correct? Karr's stuff all looks the same, oh well.
12:04 PM Really? How so? I'm surprised to hear that. I've liked the Karr buildings and renovations I've seen. They did a spectacular design for some associates a few years back.
I like the smart re-puposing of existing structures in the Woodmont Triangle.
