Pines of Rome to reopen in about two weeks on Cordell Ave., current location will close tonight
Pines of Rome expects to reopen in its new location at 4918 Cordell Avenue in about two weeks, the restaurant's owner said Saturday. The signs for the new location were installed on Friday, and today will be the last day the current location at 4709 Hampden Lane, he said. Looking forward to the first meal at the new Pines!

That's about the same amount of time they'll be in business. That place is old and unchanged and that's not a good thing.
The Helvetica font sign of a doomed restaurant. See Hamburger Hamlet in its final year for reference.
Bethesda is losing so many iconic restaurants. Still upset Grapeseed is gone. The new concepts are not good. No good ones coming to other parts of MOCO eithet.
Dyer read a sign plain as day about pines of room but got scooped by Bethesda magazine on the fish taco move. Appears dyer doesn't have sources...or at a minimum lousy ones as most of his reports can be found by just reading signs on doors. Dyer, have you thought about interning at Bethesda magazine? May be a good learning experience for you.
5:34: On the contrary, I had direct word from the owner on two occasions in the last week alone regarding Pines. Bethesda Magazine has a longstanding connection with Fish Taco's owner, who has handed them some info on several occasions. An inside job, but it's just one out of million scoops.
Your insane idea is that you never hold BM accountable for all the things they missed that I scooped them on, but you hold me to an impossible standard of having to report every single possible story in a day or I've failed.
Ridiculous, and just makes you sound like an idiot.
Is it that it was an inside job (come on this is local business) or that they just chose the better medium to share the news? Perhaps they're a better outlet with more readership? Always an excuse...or three...
