Stromboli Family Restaurant closes in Bethesda (Photos)

Stromboli Family Restaurant has closed after 37 years in Bethesda at 7023 Wisconsin Avenue. Their website would not load as of this morning. A banner attached to the front is promising the Italian restaurant will reopen in Spring 2018 with a "new look," but also under new ownership. Hopefully the family recipes will be passed on with the name. If you're a longtime Bethesda-Chevy Chase resident, you've likely had a calzone from Stromboli's at least once.

Pretty sad to see an old establishment go. Heard about this a while back, something about the Moby Dick owner taking over and swapping spots?

Hmmmm... I wonder who that new owner could be? There must be some place in Bethesda where one can find that information.

It closed Friday. 3 1/2 days ago.

Whoops, 6:19 & 6:21 should have been posted to the Apex piece. Not sure what happened there. Feel free to delete them here (which I'm sure you will anyway!).

Reminding Robert Dyer of his idiocy is never off-topic.

Spanish-language newspaper vending machine in front of Moby Dick.

Obviously an MS-13 hangout.

Was it necessary, respectful, to add the photo with the walker inside. I don't think it added anything relevant to this story. SMH!

Will they close the sidewalk when Stromboli and Moby Dick are being rebuilt?

Waiting to see if Dyer has Stromboli opening up a location in Fredericksburg...
