Bethesda construction update: Brightview Bethesda (Photos)

The pace has really picked up at the Brightview Bethesda construction site at 4907 Rugby Avenue. Not only is demolition complete, but the Donohoe Construction team is already on to excavation, sheeting and shoring. We're also getting a temporary clear view of the classic Battery Gardens apartments from Rugby Avenue.

Brightview Bethesda will be for assisted living and memory care residents, with a secure second floor for dementia patients. Floors 3-7 will be assisted living divided into studios, and 1-and-2-bedroom apartment units. Units will have kitchenettes, but 3 meals a day will be served in the building. Activity rooms are also planned for patients.

Why no coverage of Hans Reimer's legislative victory in protecting sites like the Westbard maybe-cemetery?

I can't wait until the Westbard deads are moved to a more respectful location than under that parking lot.

10:15: Because that's fake news - the bill does not protect the cemetery at Westbard, and would not have prevented it if in place.

I will be weighing in on the real scandal about the legislation, which you won't read about in the Washington "Montgomery to Protect Cemeteries!!!!!" Post. Totally fake headline. #FakeNews

You won’t be weighing in. To weigh in, you need to be taken serious. Nobody here cares what you have to say and certainly doesn’t take you serious. Everybody hear probably thinks your confused with your wild conspiracy theories and unhealthy obsession with Hans Reimer.

Lower MoCo is becoming one big retirement community -in the past it was mostly Friendship Heights (North Park Ave and Somerset House) - now its moving to Bethesda and even Grosvenor Lane.
