Nighttime demolition underway at Apex Building (Photos)

Structural demolition of the Apex Building at 7272 Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda is finally underway. Workers were destroying an upper floor last night. Carr Properties had to request a noise waiver to perform the after-hours demolition. Because the area being demolished was significantly back from the roadway, over the driveway, the right lane of southbound Wisconsin Avenue remained open to traffic.

Can’t wait! Hopefully Regal or another theater comes back.

The building is being demolished, not “destroyed”, but thanks for the update. I see they are also beginning demo near the Landmark Bethesda Row Cinema side. We live nearby, and so far, not too loud at night. Sort of a low pounding sound. Almost like a vehicle passing over a loose grate. I’m sure it will get louder.

This is Dyer's only article for today? Hella lame.

Hurry up and get a job before the minimum wage prices you out of the MoCo job market, Dyer.

Hey Robert - any comment on the news about your hero Judge Roy Moore?

Thanks for the update. It seems like they aren't recycling the windows, metal, etc. Perhaps the materials don't have value in the scrap market?

5:56: I don't recall ever speaking about Roy Moore publicly, ever.
