Damaging brownouts return in the Westbard area of Bethesda

Pepco customers in the Westbard area of Bethesda reported experiencing three brownouts in one day this past Saturday, July 15, 2023. The brownouts occurred at approximately 9:21 AM, 1:33 PM and 3:17 PM on Saturday. There was no inclement weather in the area at any of those times. Such electricity interruptions can damage or destroy appliances.

Non-weather-related power grid issues have afflicted the Westbard area since 2018. There were several outages ranging from several minutes to an hour that year. Last year, there were a number of brownouts amid sunny skies. Pepco did not respond to a social media inquiry regarding the cause of Saturday's brownouts.

Just wait until 2025 when natural gas permits will be difficult if not impossible with the democrats push to electric only new construction AND NO plans to improve the grid. This is what happens when you elect progressives who never passed mathematics in school.

BTW the EV's you're driving is majority powered by fossil fuels.

So glad I'm 70 ish and not 7, with no progeny. It amazes me that libs with spawn so hobble them and threaten their futures. Too bad.

There must be a regulation somewhere detailing what the electric company is required to tell it's customers.

I see Robert is attracting a diverse audience. That's a good thing.

Politicians dictating policies absent consideration of the results is what's happening here. Denying NG permits for all new construction without a vast improvement in the grid is irresponsible and when there is a problem, these democrats will blame anyone but themselves.

I live in Westbard, on Westbard Avenue in fact... I was working from home on Saturday, and I didn't experience any electrical service interruptions.

5:39: There is more than one grid station serving the Westbard area. If the brownout only impacted one, customers on the others would not be affected.
