Armed robbery at AT&T Store in Bethesda

Montgomery County police are seeking the public's help in identifying and locating a suspect in connection with the robbery of an AT&T Store last month in downtown Bethesda. On December 6, 2023 around 6:30 PM, the suspect entered the store at 4957 Elm Street. He asked about purchasing an iPhone 15 Pro Max, and allegedly may have furnished a false ID card to the store employee.

When the employee brought out the requested phone, the suspect allegedly implied that he had a firearm in his jacket pocket, and would not be paying for the device. The employee handed the phone to the suspect, who fled the scene on foot.

The suspect is described as a Black male, "hair styled in twists," wearing sunglasses and a black and blue coat. Anyone with information regarding this suspect or this crime is asked to visit the Crime Solvers of Montgomery County, MD website at www.crimesolversmcmd.org (http://www.crimesolversmcmd.org/) and click on the “www.p3tips.com (http://www.p3tips.com/)” link at the top of the page or call 1-866-411-8477. A reward of up to $10,000 is offered for information leading to the suspect's arrest. Tipsters may remain anonymous.

Stupid is as stupid does. Too bad they're both stupid and dangerous. The dangerous part is for our LEOS and Court System to mitigate, but we just have to deal with this ourselves, apparently.

Nightmare on Elm street?

The perennial prosecutor once had declared
"We are not going to lose Silver Spring"
But, the way that things lately have fared
It seems that Bethesda is now about to swing.

Absolutely unacceptable. Bethesda starting to look like DC which is an international disgrace on their crime crisis? This current level and type of crime has never, ever happened here. Thanks county council

Why bother offering a reward when those in charge will simply release him with a "promise" to appear for court.

Elrich said day before yesterday that MCPD is short over 175 officers. He should have added that demonizing the police department in addition restorative justice was a mistake but that would violate his, current council, Moore & McCarthy's core beliefs.

The more people vote for idiots like these, the further Maryland descends into chaos.

Thank you for posting this with useful information about the incident. Hopefully the public can help solve this crime and take someone dangerous off the streets.

Perhaps the Feds are building a case against McCarthy the long haired gray greaser, similar to Mosby in Baltimore. We can only hope!

If the burden of 'solving this crime' falls upon the law abiding citizens, why do we have a hierarchy law enforcement?

@5:08 PM You no doubt meant Professor McCarthy.

"Why bother offering a reward when those in charge will simply release him with a 'promise' to appear for court."

Dude's legit upset the Eighth Amendment and the presumption of innocence exist. Some people are confused how Trump has any supporters, but the fact of the matter is a significant number of Americans don't believe in basic American ideals and principles.

Nothing to see hear but the same old MAGA of MoCo bunch. YANW!

@11:10 AM "YANW" Have you completed elementary school?

9:36 & 11:10 are typical Elrich voters that fail to understand consequences. The 8th amendment stands against "excessive bail" not zero and by the way, MD doesn't allow prosecutors to look at any previous criminal records of juveniles so they can commit felony after felony until the age of 18 before it catches up to them.

But asking any liberal to understand logic is virtually impossible which why we are where we are.

9:36 and 11:10 - Besides your TDS, are you interested at all in the future of Bethesda? We have pictures and video of the violent perp, and when one suggests a good idea would be to leave him behind bars until his trial, you shrug your shoulders?

Anonymous said...

9:36, then why have any incarceration or arrest (of movement) at all? Do you really think everyone should be totally free until trial?

Anonymous said...

Omg pictures of such violence! I'm so scared!

We are all victims. Look at just the financial costs. Malls shut down, employees sent home, responders, the revolving court system, layers of needless bureaucracy, truancy officers bringing back disruptive 'students,' ad nauseum

2:36 - Correct. And what do the deep Blue counties and states do, exhaust every possible effort to restrict and infringe on our 2A rights. To all the liberals who visit here, what possible sense does it make that the bad guys can have guns (illegally cause they're crooks) and the good guys can't? That's the very definition of stupid. If more of these total morons got shot or at least if they thoughts maybe someone trained were carrying, they'd think twice. Don't wait up. Great job Elrich voters.
