A driver accelerated forward over the sidewalk at the Kenwood Station shopping center shortly after noon today, crashing through the front of Whole Foods Market at 5269 River Road, and driving all the way through the produce department. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson Pete Piringer said one person was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The cause of the crash is still being investigated. A reader who was at the store forwarded these photos.

Surprisingly, I did have this on my 2024 bingo card.
I’ve heard of road rage, but produce rage? 🥑🍎🍋🥦🍅
Maybe they were confused about where the order pick up station was? It is the worst parking lot in Bethesda.

Looks a little fishy.
Are those fruits and vegetables still considered to be organic?

Indeed it is the worst parking lot in Bethesda in not the County.
Most of them exit the wrong way, even though there are directional arrows on the pavement, because they are either too lazy or they think that they are entitled to ignore the traffic flow.
Also, maybe they confused it for the McDonald's drive thru lane across the road.
The other day I read that someone clipped his mirror and the adjacent car's mirror and then kept on driving into River Road.

Luckily, there's a Volvo body shop right across the street. That cat was brand new. Ouch!
This story made it to SNL's Weekend Update segment on January 20th :-)
