BETHESDA ROW POWER OUTAGE INTERRUPTS DINNERS AND MOVIES

An apparent transformer issue has cut off power around Bethesda Row tonight.

Pepco and Montgomery County Police are on-scene now. The right lane of Arlington Road is closed alongside Giant. Equipment on that side of Arlington Road is being examined by Pepco at this moment.

Businesses without power include all of Bethesda Lane, Bethesda Row Cinema, Vino Volo, Kraze Burgers, Potbelly, Boloco, Mamma Lucia and Jaleo. Mussel Bar and other businesses along the west side of Woodmont have power at the moment.

As you can see in the photos below, moviegoers streamed out of Bethesda Row Cinema, after their movies were cut off.

Diners already served at Jaleo were finishing meals in darkness, while new customers were being turned away.

Bethesda Lane is a darkened wasteland, the only light provided by a car pointing its headlights down the pedestrian street.

Stay tuned here and at @BethesdaRow on Twitter for updates.
