Bethesda renovation update: Ourisman Honda (Photos)

The extensive renovation of Ourisman Honda continues on Bethesda Avenue. One development that's a bit surprising is the work going on at the front of the showroom. This was described in the noise waiver application as a renovation of the service facilities, but the project appears to include the showroom and garage as well. Perhaps that is because the jackhammering only pertained to the service area.

Did Poppy ghost-write this article?

Hopefully the addition and renovations include a facade that blends in better with the community. The ugly blue is an eyesore to the residential apartments and houses abutting the property. Even McDonald's does a better job reflecting neighborhood aesthetics in certain areas. Montgomery County public parking garages use climbing plant grids to break up the open parking levels. I hope Ourisman will put some thought into their plans. They don't have to look like a Honda dealership you see along the highway.

Should have been torn down.

Is there any information for what they are doing on the backside? It is taking up space on the crescent trail and this week they have put up some very large heavy duty steal beams which look like an additional three stories will be going just above the trail? Any word on that?

There is a stop work order on the renovations that are supposed to cantilever over the trail.
