The Maryland Department of Transportation held a public meeting last night in Clarksburg to introduce basic information about Gov. Larry Hogan's Express Lanes proposal for I-495 and I-270, and get preliminary feedback from attendees. An identical open house will be held tonight, Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 6:30-8:30 PM at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School.
Officials said future meetings will offer more specifics on alternatives, as well as environmental and property issues. Another public meeting will be held this year, and a public hearing on the environmental impact statement in 2019. MDOT anticipates a final Record of Decision on the project in 2020.
Hogan is aiming for an expedited design and approval process for the project, which will largely be built through private funds, costing taxpayers very little. Among the private firms who have already joined the Express Lanes team are Ernst & Young and CDM Smith.

This plan doesn't go far enough. 270 and 495 should be widened to 10 lanes in each direction (20 lanes total). Only then can we accommodate all traffic at all times.
Hi, gang! Which is your favorite quote from Candidate Dyer?
"Punch yourself in the face until you black out to save us all time and energy"
"You're the lazy bum who was too lazy to click on the link I bothered to give you in the article. You have the mind of a child, and the mentality of a criminal."
"Punching you in the face would qualify under that, as well"
"readers actually enjoy when I bodyslam you through the coffee table."
"Shows how little you know about Bethesda. The only thing you'll be
watching is my brass knuckles hitting your face, vermin."
Dyer fantasizes about Hogan with his full head of hair!!! Quesadillllluhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh TARDO!!!!!
Great job, Larry!

Well, this is interesting. Robert Dyer is taking both sides on the "where does 'Bethesda' end, and 'Rockville' begin?" debate.
On his Rockville blog, blogger Robert Dyer proclaims that Pike & Rose is in "Rockville", not "North Bethesda":
New Indian restaurant to open in Rockville
While on his Bethesda blog:
Commonwealth Indian restaurant to open at Pike & Rose
(Same body text for both articles.)
Comments on the "Rockville" article immediately above:
Anonymous @t 5:36 PM: "BB reported this yesterday, Sleepyhead."
Robert Dyer: "5:36: We all got the press release. Strangely, you didn't comment on their site that they were a day late on Kusshi, which I broke the story on BEFORE Federal put out the press release. Does your conviction as a sex offender prevent you from using the computer enough to leave a comment over there?"
"State Sen. Richard Madaleno released six years of federal and state tax returns on Tuesday. The gubernatorial candidate called on others in the race to do the same. In a statement, Madaleno said the release was an effort of transparency. It’s also a rebuke of President Trump and of Bethesda blogger Robert Dyer, who never released their tax returns. According to the returns, he made $50,142 in 2012, and his and his husband’s combined wages were $175,953 in 2017."
@7:41 You forgot the knuckle sandwich threat.
11:48am Why do you want to be sued for defamation so badly? Serious question.
The only candidate with an arrest record is Hans Riemer. Hans Riemer was arrested recently in fact.
Nobody cares that Hans Riemer was arrested. He did so on purpose for publicity for his campaign, and for standing up for DACA recipients.
Anyway, simply "being arrested" doesn't mean anything. People are arrested for sitting in a Starbucks.
Does Robert Dyer have any supporters who don't all parrot the exact same talking points, and aren't fixated on both Westbard and Hans Riemer? And don't all comment within just a few minutes of each other? And don't just happen to comment right at the moment that the comments to which they are responding get deleted?
2:24: Hans Riemer arrested?!
2:33: Maybe because Westbard was a major issue, and Helpless Hans Riemer voted for the Westbard sector plan opposed by his constituents who live there?
HANS RIEMER ARRESTED
How was the D.C. jail food, and what was his prison nickname?
And yes, sometimes we need to override NIMBYs who are anti-progress. Not always a bad thing to vote against a group of constituents.
"Maybe because Westbard was a major issue, and Helpless Hans Riemer voted for the Westbard sector plan opposed by his constituents who live there?"

2:45: It's a good thing to vote against your constituents? LOL. Said no (winning) candidate ever.
2:48: When you consider that ramming through the Westbard plan was one of the key reasons over $100,000 was sunk into the failed Bethesda Now by the local political machine, yes, the universe really did revolve around Westbard for the MoCo cartel.
Funny, Robert, please tell us more about what it takes to be a winning candidate.
"It's a good thing to vote against your constituents? LOL."
Sure. Several hundred to a thousand constituents is a tiny fraction of Montgomery County's 1.04 million residents. You can't please everybody.

Robert Dyer's biggest challenge - convincing the 18,000 residents of Takoma Park that he can effectively represent them as their At-Large Councilman.
3:09pm kind of like a blogger, who hasn't sniffed a promotion in years, telling Dyer how to do journalism.
5:53 pm - How many readers does Dyer have? How come he didn't get promoted following his one term on the MoCo GOP Central Committee?
Hey Dyer - I thought you would be gloating about this? After our warmer-than-average (meteorological) winter, we are now 50 days into (meteorological) spring, and 35 of those days have had colder-than-average temperatures.

Who knew Takoma Park lets retarded people run #ISTANDWITHTARD
Why are there three pictures of Hogan?
Hello, I have legally changed my name to Imnot Dyer. Please vote for me, and my colleague Imnot Ficker, in the upcoming Republican Party primary for County Council At-Large. Help give Montgomery County the sane and viable second party it deserves.
8:03pm would rather call people names rather than debate issues because he knows he'd lose the argument.
Robert, do you have a report on the meeting last night? Did Larry attend?
Is it worth mentioning that the Hogan Administration pulled it's proposal, because the state's top financial oversight body was going to vote it down due to questions about the lack of tranparency and accountability in the contracting process?
Let's be clear: 8:41 is a typical uppity Bethesdian who gets his news from the carpetbagger Jeff Bezos Post instead of native journalist Robert Dyer.
Or perhaps a whistle blower inside the Hogan Administration?
