The sidewalk and public parking garage pedestrian entrance on Cordell Avenue reopened a day after they had been mysteriously blocked off alongside a large drilling truck. But a week later, the truck is still there, taking up several public parking spaces that could be used by patrons of restaurants on Cordell.
There are covers over the meter heads. I presume we the taxpayers are being compensated for the lost meter money for all of these days. But there remains no evidence of any actual drilling being performed here.

Can you ask the county if there is a permit and reimbursement?
You can even look up permits online, on the MCDPS website.
"Sidewalk mysteriously reopens, but mysterious drilling truck mysteriously remains"
It is a mystery...
"I presume we the taxpayers are being compensated for the lost meter money for all of these days."
1) Where do you get this "we" stuff?
2) Parking meter revenue in downtown Bethesda goes to the Bethesda Urban Partnership, not to the Montgomery County treasury. I thought you would know this by now.
Glad Dyer's reporting got the sidewalk open again. No sense to block it off for days with no work being done. Love what Dyer is doing for Bethesda!
8:09 AM I expect at least warning signage at the Fairmont/Old Georgetown crosswalk, based on Dyer's reporting this morning. Very dangerous situation to have folks falling there.
Dyer got Cordell sidewalk and garage access restored here.

9:21 AM Add an anecdote from People magazine, and we'll have the trifecta of waiting room glossy mags that no one actually buys.
9:29 AM wants more Robin Ficker in his life.
Is Robbie attending the Easter Egg Roll with Cadet Bone Spurs?
Robin Ficker and Robert Dyer are probably running on a slate.
12:10pm damn, you are insecure about your blog. You gotta promote it on Dyer's site.
Just buy an ad here.
First paid ad on Dyer's blog, from Bethesda Magazine? Charity for the less fortunate. Kind of like donating to Value Village or Melwood. Happy Easter and Passover!
1:54pm you're just making stuff up and hiding behind your anonymity.
Dyer's readers feel sorry for you at this point.
2:06pm I've never seen a man so obsessed about a journalists tax returns..And you just make stuff up to make yourself feel better.
7:51: You are wrong. Money from parking fees goes to many other things like maintenance of parking infrastructure, not just BUP, and can be diverted to the general fund. This is why I am running for the Council, and you are in dark room hiding behind a computer.
2:14pM Did you just rail on someone for " making stuff up and hiding behind your anonymity?"
That's rich.
Somehow, it seems that this comment of mine got deleted a few minutes ago.
Not sure why it is was unacceptable and why 2:14's comment wasn't.
But I'll keep posting until I get a legitimate answer.
"This is why I am running for the Council, from a dark room hiding behind a computer."
8:17: Sorry, you missed the filing deadline, *****. Looks like you'll be staying in that dark room for another 4 years.
