First brick appears on facade of 7900 Wisconsin Avenue

Over the last two weeks, the first brickwork has been installed on the facade of JBG Smith's 7900 Wisconsin Avenue development. First on the lower part of the Wisconsin Avenue side, and then on the Woodmont Avenue side, as well, as shown in these photos.

That wall has been covered with brick facade for weeks.

And weeks.

And weeks

And weeks.

And weeks.

"Brick facade" should be "brick veneer".

BTB is late again. Shame really as he didn't know about Trader Joe's moving there for years.

It is indeed brick veneer. I am surprised about this in that the renderings clearly showed large horizontal planks of multiple colors of terra cotta rain screen. Similar to the cladding on the Element 28 building. I thought that construction had to match the approved plans.

7:26: Did you read the article? It clearly mentions the photos were taken over two weeks' time, dumbass.

8:11: Sorry, moron - I'm the one, and only, journalist to exclusively report Trader Joe's being the anchor tenant FIVE YEARS AGO. You couldn't have embarrassed yourself any more thoroughly.

3:57/4:05: Tough guy flexing behind a screen. Unfortunately, the tone of your comments is the tired old voice of the troll. You should get out and walk in the outdoors, it'll do you some good.

Robert, you aren't even man enough to leave up the comments calling you a child for insulting the few readers you do have. Sad. You aren't a man....you are a child that can insult people on a computer and write sh*tty, insignificant articles.

The fact that you delete anything that is critical of you is laughable....even your responses are disjointed because you lack integrity and have ZERO confidence.

LOL at this Soy Boy attacking Dyer.

4:37AM - What a silly insult.

The idea is that if you drink dairy-free milk alternatives, you are obviously weak and feminine (based on the thinking that soy products increase men’s oestrogen levels, even though this hasn’t been scientifically proven).

And then there’s the fact that soy is often used as a meat alternative, and as we all know, real men eat meat. And women only ever eat sad plates of salad.

According to Urban Dictionary, the term soy boy means: “Slang used to describe males who completely and utterly lack all necessary masculine qualities. This pathetic state is usually achieved by an over-indulgence of emasculating products and/or ideologies.

For the men who use terms like cuck and soy boy, being called anything related to femininity is the ultimate insult. God forbid anyone be an actual woman.

The Daily Dot suggests that it could have been started by Mike Cernovich, a far right social media personality, who’s been using the term to insult people on Twitter for months.

But YouTube political commentator James Allsup, who was caught protesting with white supremacists in Charlottesville, has claimed he invented the insult.

Outside far right communities, there isn’t much awareness of the term.

Liar! The brickwork was started over 6 weeks ago. Admit your error! Or fix the original posting. Stand up and be a responsible journalist, not a coward.

This explains so much of this little blog.

Actual Dyer comment to me "your main problem is that the only number lower than your IQ is your testosterone level. Maybe even lower than $1."

Which of those was the 1st brick? I read the story, studied all the pictures, and you mentioned first was on the Wisconsin side, but you never identified the first brick.
Phooey. Misleading headline. ;)

Gentle reminder that there is no certification, license, boards or super secret badges required to be a journalist. The title is not bestowed upon certain people.

Dyer, a journalist, is reporting local news.

Anonymous said...

9:24am that's your opinion. Doesn't change the fact that Dyer is a local journalist :)

Anna said...

Anonymous Woodmont @9:15AM - you dissing someone for being anonymous is nothing more than projecting. And makes you look quite silly. Why do you do that?

9:17AM - Dyer, is an opinion blogger. Period. End of Story.

9:24 AM 7/22/19

@9:38AM - Interesting. So that sent me off researching and I found out *I'm* considered a journalist too! Nothing fancy, just my observation diaries, but it does qualify me to be called a journalist. Cool! Of course, not a professional journalist as it's all volunteer.
Ok, then I have to agree that Dyer is an opinion journalist.

9:55am please keep your Dear Diary entries about Robert Dyer to yourself.

10:12AM - hahaha. Seriously though, these days they're about birds. In the past I would observe conference or meeting videos and give my findings.
