Fuse Taco at 4903 Cordell Avenue has been closed the last two days. Thursday was a holiday, but they did not reopen Friday. Signs stating, "We're Closed," have been placed in the windows of the restaurant, and a separate lock has been placed on the entrance doors. No explanation for the closure has been posted. Stay tuned for updates.

That isn’t a lock. It is a lock box to hold heys and is used by realtors when properties are for sale.
Open for only 3 months? It's been 30 years since I dealt with commercial leases, so I'm out of the loop, but this isn't the 1st place to close after only 3-6 months.
Are there contingencies being written into the leases?

I have to admit, I never ate there. And that was mainly because of my fierce loyalty to California Tortilla. From my point of view, it was the wrong location.
Place was empty most nights.
CalTort and Gringos & Mariachis were both established up the street in either direction.
What does everyone want to see in this space?
How would people feel about a DC Pizza? They have 1 location at 19th and L NW. I love it and seems like many others do also. They are similar to &Pizza, only better food and service.
What I'd like to see:
* Shake Shack, Steak 'n Shake or other burger chain
We've lost several burger places (Smashburger at this spot, Bold Bite, the diner at 7770) so why not give BGR some competition on this side of town?
* Wawa - no hear me out - the one on 18th street in DC is in a small space. And apparently people like processed junk from gas stations (of course no gas pumps here).
* 7-11? We know the 7-11 on Wisconsin will be doomed with a new apartment building going in across from veteran's park. All of the new apartment dwellers on this side of town could use a convenience store
* Burger King - back in the day there was a Burger King in Bethesda Metro Center
* Bubble Tea - because like Starbucks, you can never have too many bubble tea places :)
11:19 AM I'd be on board for another pizza place

Did I get that right?
Anna @ 2:35 PM - Yes! {winky-winky}
Wow! Lot of comments. Yep, that's gotta be a record.
Whatever became of the coal-fired pizza place in the Community Space? There's still a "for lease" sign there.
5:12: It's under construction.
Unwritten Rule #118:
All comments mentioning the name of the owner of a series of moribund, high-turnover properties in the Woodmont Triangle, will be promptly deleted. Including any mention of Unwritten Rule #117, which named the entity explicitly.
bethesda needs a good sandwich deli. Real boars head meat. nice good foot longs.
@11:15 - We had Heckmann's, which I thought was really good. Pricey, but good. Some of the little delis in the office buildings are good. I like St. Elmo's, the Woodmont deli (over by Rugby) and the Bethesda Deli in Bethesda Place.
Too bad about Fuse Taco, but they never really got off the ground. I went there with my husband once. The tacos were good, but not so compelling that we had to go back.
I vote for WaWa. A pity that Mo Co doesn't have them. Learning
6:57: There is a Wawa opening in Gaithersburg soon.
I would love to see another Blowdry Bar chain here such as Blo or Cherry. The service at Drybar in Bethesda Row is horrendous. People wait for at least an hour for their appointment. Staff coming in late and management not doing anything about. People keep going for the price and and cause it’s the only one around. Upper management isn’t doing anything about it cause it constantly stays busy. It could use some good competition to change their practices!
A Chick-fil-A would be great in this spot as well!
A ramen shop should do alright there.
The food was terrible. Their concept was decent, but their execution was flawed. Half of the "international" tacos were fried chicken with a different topping. And the Swedish taco was a pile of fat and gristle. How about a real Vietnamese place...
One of the shortest lifespans of any restaurant. Is the spot "cursed"? Of course, opening a taco joint across from the most popular taco joint in Bethesda seems doomed from the start.
6:10: Good point.
