Flooding on Outer Loop of Beltway, Goldsboro Rd. in Bethesda,

Firefighters have been called to rescue drivers stranded on the Outer Loop of the Capital Beltway in Bethesda due to high water on the roadway between River Road and Clara Barton Parkway. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesperson Pete Piringer reports that vehicles are stranded on the highway.

Also avoid Goldsboro Road between MacArthur Boulevard and River Road. High water is impacting travel there, as well.

UPDATE 9:49 AM: Piringer reports MCFRS performing water rescues on Clara Barton Parkway near the Beltway.
