The actual flight simulator has arrived at Dream Aero, which will soon begin offering authentic flight experiences from the cockpit of a Boeing 737 NG (not the Max, for those who were worried!) on the third level above the Dining Terrace at Westfield Montgomery Mall. A reception desk is also in place. The pilot and co-pilot's coffees were standing by atop it.

Did Dyer get invited to the "soft opening"?
This is the most bizarre thing I've ever seen. Food court and other stores at the mall are closing left and right but they install a flight simulator? It's almost embarrassing.
@6:30 I have no idea the demand for a flight simulator, but such a unique item may be a "draw" to get people to come to the mall who wouldn't ordinarily go there. People may come from far and wide if the simulator is their goal.
I bet they are getting a sweet lease deal from the mall too, given the failure of that space in the past.
6:34 here again. For example, the American Girl doll store in Tysons. People come from all over just to visit it as it's the only one in the area, and then they go to other places in the mall as well.
The terrorist are lining up like an iphone release, to get in.
It's all about giving people "experiences" for mall owners beyond just stores. That's why they got a new movie theater, the flight sim, the culture tour thing that is running now, etc.
Frankly, they need more of this stuff.
The McRib review by Dyer is almost as bad as this flight simulator story.
I'm a little surprised to see a space that large holding only one simulator. They won't be able to make very many reservations, will they?
