Matchbox crowded as restaurant nears opening at Bethesda Row

The new Matchbox at Bethesda Row was packed last night, even though it is not yet officially open. They were hosting training last night inside the restaurant, opening soon at the corner of Woodmont Avenue and Elm Street. The sign was also lit out front.

You should have tried hanging out in the alley behind Matchbox, like a normal rat. Perhaps you could have found a tossed away crust.

Yup. He needs to get better getting free food. I box up enough free stuff to feed myself for a week. The free gym membership comes in handy after all the day, sodium and sugars I take in!

We were at the soft opening. It was excellent!

Dyer, it was open to the public. No invites needed. Everyone just walked in. All items were half price.

So one story has restaurants closing all over downtown. The next is a successful huge restaurant opening. Is the economy moribund not?

They need some booths Rockville has plenty.

We were there on Tuesday. Good addition to that area of Bethesda and a HUGE trade up in that location from ATR. Their soft open continues tonight (Thursday) from 5 - 7. Good start. Working out some kinks, but it's a soft open, so that's what it's all about, and if you go, you should be going with that in mind. We had fun on Tuesday, and the food and service were both very good.

Rockville has no kinks, cozy booths and free parking right in front.
