Popeyes has announced the return of its "sold-out" chicken sandwich. The sandwich will be available starting November 3, 2019. Popeyes intentionally chose a Sunday to bring back the chicken sandwich to emphasize that chicken sandwich king and arch competitor Chick-fil-A is closed on Sundays, likely in hopes of reigniting the chains' Twitter feud for publicity purposes.
Bethesda has two Popeyes restaurants - at Westfield Montgomery Mall in the Dining Terrace, and at the corner of Rockville Pike and Old Georgetown Road.

To paraphrase Steve Jobs, do you want to be a journalist and change the world, or just write a blog about junk food?
Can I get a pumpkin pie rice krispies as a side with my chicken sandwich?
Montgomery Mall and North Bethesda. Lots of copypasta for the slightly-failing Rockville blog.
7:26am Dyer covers it all: development, restaurants, retail, traffic, weather, politics
7:26: Did you ask Maura Judkis at the Washington Post that question? She regularly writes about fast food for that austere, religious publication.
Damn, son, you just got destroyed.
Maura Judkis! Isn't she terrific? Did you know she's a 2018 James Beard Award winner for humor? Her work has been honored by the Association of Food Journalists and the Virginia Press Association. She graduated magna cum laude from George Washington with a BA in journalism.
That makes her a world-changer.
8:35 AM Because fast food should be reviewed in a business suit? lol
8:41 AM You probably don't want to bring up the appearance of local bloggers.
Let's just say there's a reason they never post photos of themselves. Maybe all that free food takes a toll.
I'm glad Robert doesn't critique other local bloggers appearances...plenty of material to go there.
I'm not sure why they feel the need to take weird cheap shots at Robert here anonymously however. Just do you and stop the personal attacks.
Boxing up all that free food, free Costco memberships, etc and still not happy unless they're tearing someone else down.
Things that make you go hmmm....
9:14 AM Have at it, but we all know that's not what you really want to talk about.
And now, a comment actually related to Popeye's.
"Bethesda has two Popeyes restaurants - at Westfield Montgomery Mall in the Dining Terrace, and at the corner of Rockville Pike and Old Georgetown Road."
The Popeye's in Tenleytown (Wisconsin Ave. @ Van Ness St. NW) is actually much closer to downtown Bethesda, Chevy Chase and Westbard. Why not list that one, given your sudden interest in that area?
I love Dyer's reporting- he's a local guy.
Doesn't need a GPS to find his way around the county. Life long resident.
What a retarded comment. Can Robert Dyer find Hallmark Court in Gaithersburg, or Castle Cliff Place in Calverton, or Hackamore Drive in Potomac, to cite just three streets in our county - without using GPS, Google or Mapquest, or his trusty old ADC Atlas?
Anyway, what does that have to do with Popeye's?
"Popeyes intentionally chose a Sunday to bring back the chicken sandwich to emphasize that chicken sandwich king and arch competitor Chick-fil-A is closed on Sundays."
Sabbath Breakers will not replace us.
Really pathetic Robert’s only claim to ‘fame’ is that he has lived here all his life. He has to keep saying it to help him feel superior. That and telling people to punch themselves. Makes him feel like a man instead of a whimpering man boy
Not-So-Anonymous, August 18, 2019:
"Bullshit, Soy Boy. No kidding, Mr. GPS - he said it faces Woodmont right in the article. 'Nocturnal person?' LOL, keep your fantasies about Dyer to yourself, you fucking creep."
Not-So-Anonymous, July 12, 2019:
"Dyer has strong roots in the area...he's a local guy-life long resident. Let's just say Dyer doesn't need a GPS to get around the county."
Robert Dyer, March 06, 2018:
"Pepco finally found Hampden Lane on Monday - perhaps they borrowed the GPS unit carpetbagging Montgomery County Councilmember Hans Riemer uses to find his way around the unfamiliar county."
Robert Dyer, April 07, 2016:
"The bus tour was an embarrassment because it emphasized the Council is unfamiliar with the areas they represent. I wouldn't need to tour Aspen Hill or Clarksburg to learn about them. Unlike Hans Riemer, I don't need a GPS to find my way around the County."
Robert Dyer, February 24, 2016:
"Carpetbagger Hans Riemer couldn't find this intersection without a GPS."
Robert Dyer, February 09, 2015:
"Wheaton Plaza has had upscale tenants throughout its history. You and Hans Riemer might want to get up to speed on MoCo history. He needs GPS to find Wheaton Plaza."
"Really pathetic Robert’s only claim to ‘fame’ is that he has lived here all his life."
And he wasn't even born here. He was born in Alexandria.
Guess who else is a "lifelong resident of Montgomery County"?
-Gabe Albornoz
-Andrew Friedson
-Will Jawando
-Sidney Katz
-Craig Rice
-Marc Elrich.
-Will Jawando was actually born in Montgomery County.
4:47: Your list is totally inaccurate - some of those folks not born here, several are absolutely not lifelong residents. Is that the same Will Jawando who regularly trashes the men and women of our police department?
4:04: it understandably hits a raw nerve with carpetbaggers like you.
4:39: Only an idiot thinks mentioning GPS makes it the same person. Punch yourself.
3:10: County Council supporter still using the R-word in 2019 - leaving that up to show voters the kind of people the Council has in their circle.
First, I did not say that anyone but Jawando were born in Montgomery County, only that they are all lifelong residents. What you imagine are Jawando's opinions of the police, have nothing to do with the fact that he was born in Montgomery County, and you were not. You've never explained why you were born in Alexandria, rather than Holy Cross or any of the hospitals in Washington DC.
Also, why is using the word "idiot" somehow politically correct, but "R-word" is not?
There's nothing odd about being obsessed with where a local journalist, who you don't know or have even met, was delivered as a baby.
Nothing odd at all..
Lol.
Hey Dyer - If you are going to keep using "I'm a lifelong resident, you're a 'Carpetbagger'" as your "get out of jail free" card every time someone points out that you have no résumé, you can expect to have your lone "credential" challenged.
And nothing odd about anonymously stalking your readers after midnight. "Nothing odd at all".
3:13: I didn't even post the comment you are referring to, but the fact that your mom makes you go to bed at 8 PM every night doesn't exactly help your credibility as a troll.
I have a huge resume compared to anyone in the County Council At-Large seats currently, a good-size portion of which is detailed on my website at RobertDyer.net, so you end up looking like a fool to anyone with internet access and half a brain.
Everything I've predicted years ago on County issues has come true or been vindicated, confirming I am a very stable genius with a very big brain.
9:14: Jawando's anti-police stance is always relevant, as it severely damages his credibility in a county with arguably the top police force in the nation. It just makes him sound like an unhinged, left-wing radical. Talk about people with resumes that need to be challenged! He's only exceeded by Hans Riemer in that respect.
Yes, your obsession with what hospital a journalist was born in does out you as someone with severe mental illness. You might want to check in at the nearest hospital yourself to get the help you need.
You are just laughably wrong in claiming all of the people you listed are "lifelong residents." Several of them were born elsewhere, and several others spent many years living in other jurisdictions after being born here, thereby losing lifelong resident status.
You just got destroyed, son.
My wife was born and raised in Alexandria VA. Her father never forgave me for bringing her to MoCo to slum. The big question is, how does a chain run out of chicken sandwiches?
‘You just got destroyed, son’.
‘Check yourself in at the nearest hospital’
‘Half a brain’
Do you have any friends at all?
4:52: Asks the guy trolling from a dark room.
Sincerely,
The Honorable Robert Dyer
Mayor of Bethesda
It's been years and Dyer's troll still can't get over Robert being a life long resident.
He can't accept the most basic facts. Weird!
"Asks the guy trolling from a dark room."
Says the guy who stalks his readers between 12 and 2 AM, as in the two comments above.
"It's been years and Dyer's troll still can't get over Robert being a life long resident.
He can't accept the most basic facts. Weird!"
It's been years and Robert Dyer can't get over the fact that the majority of the County Council are "life long residents", and probably most of his readers as well. It hardly makes him special. It's not like he had any choice in the matter.
when pathological narcissists ‘can’t let go of their need to be admired or recognized, they have to bend or invent a reality in which they remain special,’ ...”
