La Panetteria, Duck Duck Goose take summer breaks in Bethesda

La Panetteria Ristorante Italiano is temporarily closed at 4921 Cordell Avenue in downtown Bethesda for a staff summer vacation. They will reopen on Tuesday, July 21, 2020. Down the street, Duck Duck Goose has also temporarily closed. The award-winning French restaurant's owner and chef, Ashish Alfred, says that he is closing to allow employees to be tested proactively for the coronavirus. He has not announced a reopening date.

Rumor in the restaurant community is that Duck Duck both here and in Baltimore have closed down for good. (Of course, this follows on the failure of George's Chophouse, so not surprising.)

If any Duck Duck employees test positive for the virus, they should do the right thing and inform the public so anyone who ate there recently can make sure they get tested.

Any word on the Montgomery County contact tracers?
