Car stolen on Battery Lane in Bethesda, 2 strong arm robberies in Bethesda and Chevy Chase

After a quiet week on the auto theft front in Bethesda, another vehicle was reported stolen Saturday morning. The car was parked in a residential parking lot in the 4900 block of Battery Lane, and was taken sometime between noon on Friday and 8:00 AM Saturday morning.

Two strong-arm robberies in Bethesda and Chevy Chase were also reported in recent days. The first took place in a commercial parking garage in the 6800 block of Wisconsin Avenue in downtown Bethesda around 9:18 PM last Thursday evening. Two hours later, a second strong-arm robbery was reported in an unidentified block of Brookville Road in Chevy Chase.

Sure would be nice if MoCo Police caught these criminals.

Lot to say here obviously. But the only way these cars are being stolen is with their keys.
These are not being pulled onto tow trucks and are certainly not being hot wired that's only in the movies. No, these perps are far from pros. They try every car they can in a neighborhood and steal anything from unlocked cars and steal the entire car if they find keys. Bradley Lane would be almost impossible to take a car any other way. From Wisc to Conn, there is zero on street parking. When you cross Conn, there is some but not much. Most are in driveways which means they likely coast down the driveway then start the vehicle and take off.
Get that Ring footage. The police of course are already checking that now. This has to stop.

No demographic information about the strong arm robberies? And what did they take? Purses, groceries, luggage? Welcome to the new Bethesda where walking down the street without some kind of defensive weapon is a thing of the past. It was a nice run.

@3:47 PM: Clearly they were wearing MAGA hats and had full scholarships to Johns Hopkins Medical School where they are pursuing neurosurgery.
