Catalytic converter thieves zero in on Toyota Prius models in Chevy Chase

Thieves swept through Chevy Chase on the night of September 6, 2021, seeking valuable catalytic converters. A majority of those who were victimized own Toyota Priuses. Such owners are aaking: Why target a Prius?

The answer was provided by Montgomery County police. While all catalytic converters contain valuable metal parts, those in hybrid vehicles are far more valuable, because those metal elements of the converter are not as corroded as they would be in a gasoline engine-only car.

Wait, what? I thought cars were targeted based on bumper stickers! I read that in the comments section so it must have been true!

Have you seen which stickers overwhelmingly populate the Toyota Prius?
