The first lighting fixtures have been activated at the future Westbard Square development Phase 1 building at 5400 Westbard Avenue in Bethesda. Accent lighting on parts of the building facade is lit. Lighting is also on inside the parking garage of the building, which will be anchored by a Giant grocery store on the top floor. Along Westbard Avenue, the first street lamps are being installed. A driveway and road are being paved between the existing Westwood Shopping Center and the new building's rear parking garage entrance. Delivery of the building is anticipated for late 2023.

Nice to see the first phase wrapping up.
How do folks who want to grab a coffee do it with no street parking? Starbucks customers aren’t going to go into the parking garage and wind up three floors and walk back-and-forth just to get a coffee. There’s plenty of room for street parking along Westbard. The only explanation is that the new Westbard shopping area is being designed for the purple line when it arrives in 2030…
5:46: I believe street parking is planned for that stretch of Westbard when the project is completed.

lol, funny joke.
I’m sure the Pols in MoCo would like bike lanes instead of street parking.
