The Heights food hall was originally expected to open at The Shops at Wisconsin Place in Chevy Chase in late 2022. A full year later, it finally has an opening date of December 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM. The final roster of tenants in the food hall includes the full-service restaurant Urbano, a speakeasy called The Turncoat, the eponymous full-service bar The Heights, and stalls occupied by This Deli of Ours, Saoco Cuban Eats, DC Dosa, Sky Lanterns: The Thai Tales, Doki Doki Sushi, Mimi's Handmade Soft Serve, Yasmine, Supreme Barbecue, and Aunteaboba. The Heights is located at 406-A Wisconsin Avenue atop the Friendship Heights Metro station.

Hope those businesses can hold on until the new residential units are occupied. Not to much foot traffic around there now.

My dude, there are always people walking around here, due to general population density.
There are literally thousands of people that live within a few blocks of this place.

Haha, very funny. One could say that of literally everything, everywhere, 'round here. So, why isn't everything successful? I do think they'll do ok at lunch (but too many choices) but evening I bet abysmal.
Not nearly enough traffic to support all those vendors. I'm waiting to see if the vendors reduce their staff to one person... that's when things like improper gloving, handling money and food, and other health shortcuts get going.
2:29: There are people around the transit station. Most people waiting for the bus don't want to divert for a food court. I do miss the little convenience store; they had good empenyadas. Most of the retail is dying. At 5 pm on Friday, the place has been dead when I've gone shopping there versus Bethesda Ave where the boutiques were hopping.

The Booeymonger at Friendship Heights (on the D.C. side) closed a few months ago, so that might help the deli. If anything, I think that the full-service offerings might face more difficulty than the small vendors.

It would really help to place signage for various vendors on Wisconsin Avenue. I'm not sure how people will even know there is a food court there.
Foot traffic should theoretically be less important if they can make it up in delivery, which will probably make up 40+% of revenue- perhaps even higher.
Would be smart for them to engage the community with specials for Friendship Heights residents. They are going to need consistent local patrons until more condos/rentals open up in 2025/6
5:16: Good point. People don't go much out of their way. Maybe have grand opening day with free samples.
