ARCLIGHT CINEMAS BETHESDA OPENS TODAY (VIDEO)

Today is the official grand opening of the new 16-screen Arclight Cinemas at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. You may have attended already during the cineplex's "soft opening" over the last couple of weeks. If so, please post a comment on your experience below.

If you haven't gone, it's not too late to order tickets. Curious about what ArcLight has to offer compared to other theaters within driving distance? Watch my video review for a preview of the ArcLight experience, and hear about the concept and dining options directly from ArcLight employees themselves. See the largest-screen auditorium, learn some technical specs, and hear about the brand's selling points - like no advertising before the movie!

Interstellar is the big movie there this weekend, as well as Big Hero 6 - which is not a sequel, despite the title.

For the love of Christ....INVEST IN A STEADICAM

This video is probably why iPic didn't invite you to their preview event.

Did Arclight hire you a hooker so you'd present coverage of them over the better iPic?

12:53: No, in fact they were smart enough to have a media preview and invite local media. iPic didn't have a similar event, and did not invite me to the theater, or even provide a press release. Hence they got no coverage. Doesn't sound very media-savvy to me, but that was their choice, not mine.

What gives you the idea that iPic is "better?" Frankly, I can't tell you the strong points of iPic because they haven't shared them with me yet. It sounds like you should be asking iPic why they weren't after a younger demographic, and the new media sources they get their information from in 2014.

11:40: No, it's not. The video was published this morning, long after iPic opened. iPic never had a media event of the type shown in this video. They had some hand-picked, legacy media outlets come in and snap some photos, as best as I can tell from the mainstream media reports that are all basically the same. Was there something with an actual demonstration of the theater equipment, tasting of the food service, executives from iPic able to answer questions, etc., such as ArcLight did? If so, it was not apparent from any press report I've read. iPic fumbled the local media angle, and it has nothing to do with my video.

A steadicam would help you keep the camera steady, as opposed to the vomit-inducing crap you put out now. Also no video with this little amoutn of content needs to be 12 minutes long....but I guess you know better from sitting in your mom's basement making food review videos of the latest frozen food products at CVS.

Now we wait and see how Robert Dyer tries to spin his response to blame Hans Riemer, George Leventhal, the MoCo Machine, Yoko Ono and the cookie monster

it seems like ipic "hand-picked" real media outlets...who can blame them?

8:19: Your comment makes no sense. The video is jam-packed with content, that's why it's 12 minutes long. You're the guy in his mom's basement posting Anonymous comments on a news blog, with the mentality of a 12-year-old. Time to grow up.

8:20 You can't blame them if their target audience was 60+ empty nesters.

iPic could see some good PR right now. The early Yelp reviews are mixed and have lower ratings compared to ArcLight.

Some are complaining that the waiters taking orders and bringing food in to the theater is very noisy and distracting.
Apparently ArcLight has a better ordering system that's less disruptive.

Robert, why do you have that weird arrow in the middle of your forehead?

The seating is assigned? Do they check your ticket and have ushers take you to your seat? Or is it just go to your seat and if someone is there show them your ticket that it's your seat?
