CHLOE'S NY STYLE DELI COMING TO BETHESDA, CAVA GRILL OPENS TODAY AT WESTFIELD MONTGOMERY MALL

Chloe's NY Style Deli is the latest dining attraction coming soon to Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. It answers the question of what will take over that space near Chick-Fil-A in the original food court area of the mall. But that's just the beginning of the restaurant news at the just-expanded retail center.
The other half of
the Chloe's sign
CAVA Grill opens today at the mall, and as is their custom on Day One (which they refer to as Community Day, not a grand opening), your food will be FREE today. In exchange, CAVA is asking you to consider making an optional donation to their non-profit local partners MicroGreens and City Blossoms. Here's a preview of the new restaurant:

Charley's Philly Steaks is now open in the Dining Terrace, as is MET Bethesda on the second level, just outside of the new ArcLight Cinemas.
For those craving the
famous sandwich from
Philadelphia
MET Bethesda overlooks the
new Dining Terrace
Lobster ME looks like it will be opening any day now. Here's a sneak peek at the space, and the Lobster ME menu:

And the Coming Soon signage is up at CRAVE (opening in early December) and Naples Ristorante e Pizzeria.

American kitchen and sushi bar? Interesting combo.

Excited for the cava grill and lobster me.

So Crave and Kraze in the same food court?

A couple of comments:

-"Chloe's NY Style Deli" - because "NY style delis" have done so well in Bethesda.

-Cava - there's one on Bethesda Avenue. Why go to Montgomery Mall?

-"The Lobsicle" sounds fun, but seriously, how many people will pay $14 for a single appetizer at an eatery?

-"Crave American kitchen and sushi bar" - Because that sushi and frozen yogurt place in Bethesda did so well.

I think downtown Bethesda and Montgomery Mall are quite different enough. I live in East Bethesda and still go to both.

7:36: I think the idea with Cava is more that you're already at the mall, so why go downtown when you can get the same meal here. And then keep shopping afterwards, is what a mall operator would hope to accomplish there. I think the Lobsicle will rise or fall on its own merits, so I look forward to testing it out. If it's high quality lobster, I'd be willing to pay for it. Especially considering the relative price of lobster rolls these days.

How many free samples do you expect to be given, before you declare yourself "willing to pay for it"?

Wow, some people need to lighten up on here! Have fun and relax. Some of us do go to the mall and look forward to trying new restaurants, rather than the same old same old. Yes, I frequent the restaurants mostly when I am there to shop, although I have gone to the Cheesecake Factory and the bobby flay burger palace to eat as my only destinations before.
The food court looked great when I was there a few weeks ago!

Siestma is just a freeloader too, scarfing down all that free food.

@ 6:15 AM - LOL, no. The restaurants don't offer free food to them. The Post's food critics keep their identities secret when they visit the restaurants. No comparison at all to some self-published moocher.

@7:47: I know, Siestma is mooching off the Post's dime (according to your theory that restaurant critics are in it for free food).

Are you going to protest outside each new restaurant's preview night for local media? All of those damn freeloading local writers.

I think I saw a Patch writer loading up her handbag with noodles when Noodles & Co. had a pre-opening event. I bet she lived off that for weeks. Damn bloggers!

"your theory that restaurant critics are in it for free food."

LOL, it's not a "theory" and I didn't make any generalization beyond the one moocher.

@11:39AM Why do you make stuff up? He said he was willing to try the lobster product. He didn't say it had to be free.

He has to try it first to know whether it lives up to the price.

You have some odd jealousy about Robert's restaurant reviews.

Your gripe seems to be that you don't find internet news sources to be legitimate. If you're waiting for Bethesda restaurant news and reviews in print, you'll be waiting awhile.

The Post, Washingtonian and Gazette have little coverage. When I pick up a copy of any of these, I see stuff I read on Robert's site weeks or months before they published.

It's not straw men, you said you had a problem with start up, "self published" news sites. (Welcome to new media in 2014!) No hyper local site has a large staff, so I'm not sure where you were going with that. I'm assuming Prince of Petworth is unworthy in your eyes?

I'm not going wait for a magazine to publish restaurant news that I read on Robert's site weeks or months before it publishes. Robert is Bethesda's restaurant critic.

You have your blog and magazine that you prefer, that's great. But why attack Robert in the process? Be proud and confident in your favorites.

I posted that in the afternoon (PM).

"Robert is Bethesda's restaurant critic."

LOL, you really should sign in under your name next time.

Also, you don't have to wait for Bethesda Magazine's monthly print edition, to read their articles. They have a website, you know.

And the comparison to PoP is an insult to PoP.

9AM, again, those are your opinions. More power to you if you have restaurant critics you prefer.

I don't know of anyone else doing the extensive reviews of Bethesda restaurants that Robert does.

I see Bethesda Magazine at the check-out line with OK magazine and TV Guide. From the covers I've seen, I'm not their target audience.

Wait a minute, PoP is just a guy on a blog, right? Self publishes...can't be trusted in your eyes.
