IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS AT BETHESDA ROW (PHOTOS)

While many Bethesda residents were voting Tuesday, elves were scampering about at Bethesda Row, getting the Federal Realty property ready for the holiday shopping season. Too early? Given that some retailers held their first Black Friday deals before Halloween(!), early is a relative term. Watch the transformation in these photos (and they're just getting started):

Wasn't the day after thanksgiving supposed to be the start of decorations? Now we are looking at 2 months earlier. Jeez. A full 1/6 of the year themed and devoted to Christmas. That's just silly.

Way too early. I'll try to remember to vote with my wallet and avoid these merchants.

Christmas now starts on November 1. Halloween, which has been expanded into a "season" starting on October 1, is a fully-owned subsidiary of Christmas.

I don't mind seeing Christmas decorations this early, I enjoy it, the holidays seem to come and go so fast.
