Update: 1:40 AM - WSSC reports 118 customers in Bethesda are affected by the water main break. They are moving equipment to the scene to begin repairs. Four southbound lanes and one northbound lane are now closed. Avoid!
A water main break at the intersection of Rockville Pike (MD 355) and Cedar Lane in Bethesda is generating standing water. Cars seem to be getting by for now, but you may want to avoid the intersection if you can by taking Old Georgetown Road.
I have heard no official announcement from WSSC yet. This could be a big issue if it's not fixed by rush hour this morning.

Have you been able to visit the scene? Any breaking news, for those of us who want to be the first to know?
For those reading who might be affected I got this text/email from MoCo this morning:
Emergency utility work closes two right lanes of south bound Rockville Pike (MD-355) between Locust Hill Rd and Cedar Ln in Bethesda. Expect significant delays. Seek alternate

Given that this blog is, mysteriously, on Pacific Time, is that update in Eastern Time or in Pacific Time?
@ 4:51 AM - Cutting out the middleman. Strong work!

The way that this is written, it sounds like the 118 affected customers are moving equipment to the scene.
4:50: You were the first to know. You are commenting on the breaking news report about the water main break, with all of the information you would need to know, as 4:51 confirmed.
5:07: Where was your report? Just mine.
Now we have employees of the competing website not only spamming my comments section in a desperate attempt to get readers, but claiming that a report 9 hours later scoops the breaking news story I posted when the water main break actually happened. Sad.
Since Dyer's comment @ 6:42 AM mentions "the competing website", will he feel compelled to delete it?
Ed Rooney, stop deleting all the posts! The people want to be heard!
Any updates? Bueller? Bueller?
Work has been completed!
Thank you, MoCo Machine, you're the greatest!
4:12: Thank you for spamming, glossy magazine employee. What a moron.
Why is 10:23 so scared of this website? Do you need the clicks so badly over there?
11:22 AM The do seem very insecure about their work.
