No lines for iPhone 8? Now that's #FakeNews (Photos)

The mainstream press wanted America to know that "No one cares about the iPhone 8." Never underestimate how much Apple fans in Bethesda care! There was indeed a line at the Bethesda Row Apple Store on Launch Day for the iPhone 8, which hit the streets more than a month before the ridiculously-expensive but coveted iPhone X. Also on display Friday was the next Apple Watch. Strangely, the iPhones were not connected to the internet, preventing a thorough test.

Speaking of fake news -- what we see in that first photo is about as long as the line ever got.

I don't think Dyer knows what "fake news" means.

Mr. Dyer, can you provide a link to one of these "mainstream press" articles stating there were no lines at any Apple store anywhere in the world?

I think the ones that are crazy enough to line the streets for the new thingy are crazy enough to wait for the x. It will happen when that happens

What mainstream news place said no one cares??

A few examples of doomsday headlines over the past couple of days. As Dyer reported, there is strong interest in Bethesda anyway.

18 people in line outside that store, about twice that number visible inside the store.

That's nothing compared to Georgetown Cupcake on a typical day.

@ 9:50 AM - Or Silver Diner any Sunday at brunch time.

"Strangely, the iPhones were not connected to the internet, preventing a thorough test."

Translation: "They kicked me out of the store before I could snap a picture of my hobby blog displaying on the iPhone X."

Compare this to the line for the iPhone 6 at the same store. Positively pales in comparison.

The picture for Robert Dyer's very next article shows no one waiting outside the Apple Store. LOL

Oh for heaven's sake. Mine was delivered to my door on Friday.

(That's what us literate iphone users do, 12:27.)

Do a Google image search for "Leave The Apple Store".

I hardly think this is some mainstream media cover-up. The new iPhone simply isn't as big a leap forward as some previous models. It's got baby-step improvements. That's fine, but it's not going to bring people out in droves.

Just like Microsoft Windows. People waited in line overnight for a copy of Windows 95. You didn't see that for Windows 10 or (shudder) Vista.
