New Bethesda hotel

participating eateries
I have just received the latest list of participating restaurants from Bethesda Urban Partnership, and downtown Bethesda's newest hotel restaurant is on it. Leo & Liv will be opening in The Bethesdan Hotel (formerly the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel) this fall.
Other first-time participants will include Casa Oaxaca, Lotus Grill & Bar, and Poke Dojo. They'll share the event with some of Bethesda's top, award-winning dining destinations, including Duck Duck Goose, Chef Tony's, Jaleo, Medium Rare and many more.
Live entertainment across 5 stages this year will include 8 Ohms, Caz Gardiner, Chopteeth, Heather Aubrey Lloyd (2019 Bernard/Ebb Songwriting Awards winner), Mary-El, Moonshine Society, Sweetnova and Patrick Alban. The cultural music and dance stage will present Dynamic Dance Team, Furia Flamenca, Rhythmaya Dance, Soul in Motion and Tepua Hio Hio.

5:39: I had a whole crowd of voters around me at various points during last year's Taste of Bethesda. Maybe if you weren't cowering behind a trash can you would have noticed, Boy Friday.

Well of course there was a ‘crowd of voters’. Anyone over 18 is a voter or potential voter. The question is were they going to vote for you? Did they even know who you were? Did you campaign? Did you speak to the ‘crowd of voters’?

May I suggest you are very close to being correct! Just one letter off. Let’s just leave it at “the Mayo of Bethesda”, until Bethesda is incorporated as a city, and the majority of voters elect a real mayor.

If we had a new urban cineplex to replace the Regal, I bet 20,000 movie patrons each weekend would know about Dyer, and certainly would elect him mayor if they could. I know this because I read it in a report somewhere, but can’t recall where.

There is no elected Mayor of Bethesda. Dyer is called that because of his extensive knowledge of our city. He has daily reporting on Bethesda on multiple platforms. Lifelong resident too! A local guy.
This is Poke Dojo's first year as their own restaurant, but Hanaro has offered poke for the past two years at least. But I'm not sure if any of the signature bowls that are now on the menu at Poke Dojo were available...
I'm excited to try the new places!
8:03 AM Again, there is no official designation. There is no one who has to approve it. It's a fun title for a guy who is the best known restaurant reviewer in town, the only person with a daily blog focused on Bethesda, life long resident, etc.

11:55 AM "Homeless guy"? You make it sound like there is just one. There are at least two people living in the downtown Post Office in addition to the homeless seen on the streets.
Friendship Heights Metro station is right over the DC line, but looks like a homeless encampment at night. Every bench has a blanketed body spread out for the night. Not sure if this is Chevy Chase Maryland homeless finding safe space or DC.
And, no, Bethesda has only one Mayor- Robert Dyer it is. If someone else wants to step up and challenge him, please do so. Just don't be another blogger since every other Bethesda blogger has failed through the years.
