7500 Old Georgetown renovations update (Photos)


A massive exterior and interior renovation project continues at the Clark Building at 7500 Old Georgetown Road at the Bethesda Metro Center. It is being rebranded as 7500 Old Georgetown.


7500's facade has a brighter, two-tone paint scheme, and the ground floor entrance is being completely overhauled to create an "activated lobby experience." Updates include a Metro level tenant lounge, a new fitness center, and a penthouse-level conference center and lounge. A new exterior plaza and landscaping will round out the changes. 


The $24 million renovation is anticipated to be completed this fall. Clark Enterprises sold the building to Stonebridge in 2019. Stonebridge has leased the building to Transwestern, which is now marketing the many available suites at the property to prospective tenants.

Looks like a three tone paint job to me!

They were also approved to add some very tall windows to the windowless top floor, but that doesn't seemed to be in the works, at least at this time. Maybe they are waiting for a big tenant to lease it. I have also read that Clark is moving most of their offices to Crystal City, but will retain a smaller amount in this building. Not sure where the official HQ will be located.

It sure looks better than the previous grey precast facade. Maybe Brookfield, the owner of the nearby precast concrete offices at Bethesda Metro Center will do a similar facade remodeling.

Looks nice.

They badly need more street level retail here to keep the plaza from being moribund.

Also, they need to make major repairs to the bus bay and kiss & ride area. There are major water infiltration issues and it's always covered in bird droppings.
