Car stolen from home in North Bethesda


Montgomery County police are investigating the theft of a vehicle from a home in North Bethesda yesterday morning. The vehicle was reported stolen from the driveway of a home in the 6100 block of Wayside Drive, according to crime data. That is in the Oaks at North Bethesda neighborhood. It is believed the car was stolen sometime between 11:30 Saturday night, and 9:00 AM Sunday morning.

Perfect location for a car theif. Right around the corner from the 270 spur and Old Georgetown Rd.. I notice in Bethesda car theifs are picking homes near major streets so they can make a quick getaway without being seen………..I think they are walking around or driving with an accomplice to scope out which cars they want in advance of attempting to take them. Also seems like more and more of these thefts are happening around 2 or 3AM while the owners are asleep in the house.
