Winter break for some Bethesda small businesses

While fake, "temporary" closures are often deployed when a restaurant or shop doesn't want to acknowledge it is closing, there are many small businesses in town which do take legitimate Winter or Summer breaks. That's because they often have a staff of a few employees, are family-owned, or even just a one (wo)man show. You've got to take a vacation sometime, right? Or an emergency happens, and there's no else who can run the business while you're gone.

Two businesses currently on a winter break, but have given reopening dates, are:

Zin Hair + Colour, a salon at 7711 Woodmont Avenue, on will reopen January 19.

Cornucopia, the Italian deli and market at 8102 Norfolk Avenue, will reopen on February 10; the owner has had to take an "urgent business trip to Italy."

Matuba recently took a similar break for a few days, as well.

I mention these not only as a heads-up if you had planned to visit these shops during this time, but also because it gives people a chance to hear about some of the small businesses in town they might not be familiar with.
