Joe & the Juice opening Wildwood Shopping Center location

Joe & the Juice, the popular juice and coffee shop that already has a Bethesda Row location, will expand to the Wildwood Shopping Center this year. They will be located in a 1900 SF space between Sanctuary Interior Design and Irresistibles. The new store will open this summer, property owner Federal Realty announced yesterday.

“Since we opened our first store in Bethesda two years ago, our regular customers have asked us to come to Wildwood Shopping Center - and now we finally heard their call," Joe & the Juice's Valdemar Halbye said Thursday. "We can’t wait to open up a flagship location with our new expanded menu that includes omelettes and other breakfast items in addition to freshly made juice, coffee and sandwiches," he added.

The Wildwood Shopping Center, as I previously reported, will also add Bethesda Bagels and Flower Child this year. An addition was added, which will offer a new common area with lounge chairs for warmer weather, and 42 new parking spaces. “The combination of new tenants and our recent upgrades further creates a place where our cherished community is encouraged to gather, shop and dine," Federal Realty's Director of Asset Management Kari Glinski said yesterday.

That place sucks. Stupid concept. Wildwood is finished. Put a fork in it. Hate what's been done to it.

Anonymous said...

Wait a minute. I knew about Flower Child (let's count the days till that closes) but must have forgotten about Bethesda Bagel. Holy crap! Where are they putting the cars? On the roof? No thanks!

You missed some much bigger news at Wildwood.

5:58: No, I didn't, punk.

Didn't I hear that both Oakville Grille & Wildwood Italian were going to be closing?

Anna said...

Name-Calling, a very effective (negotiating) tactic, if you are four years old!

Anonymous said...

6:59am there you go again. You appear and continue to needle Dyer hoping to get a rise out of him or something.

Anonymous said...

Bethesda Bagels and Joe & the Juice are both great additions. However, my entire life I have always cringed to drive into the Wildwood shopping center because the parking is insane. Even the parking out back can be bad. And then you add the people illegally parking on the ends of rows making it impossible to drive down the lots...No THANKS.

Anna said...

7:04AM - and you are chastising me because...?

Interesting...you seem to think it's ok for Dyer to call someone a name, but it's not ok to say name-calling is childish.

I'm not trying to get a rise out of him (ewww) I'm trying to get him to stop the incessant name-calling.

Anonymous said...

You know what they say about Wildwood: "No one goes there anymore, it's too crowded."

Anonymous said...

7:06 - my family and I have been shopping at Wildwood Center since the beginning. Not so terribly long ago it was fine but in recent years it has become insane as you say. You are right on the money. I was a customer of that CVS for at least 25 years and recently moved all my scripts to another location. It is going to be absolute chaos when these new restaurants and the medical building expansion next door gets underway. No thank you is right.

Anonymous said...

7:25 - Yogi Berra did make sense with his unique take on life. It's too crowded now and I predict, yes, fewer will go there because of the parking. There's no other issue than that. Spruce up the place, bring in nice stores, fine. But it isn't Westbard which Robert loves. Not enough parking for what they're doing or adding.

The Congresswoman didn't threaten anyone with brass knuckles, coffee-table violence, or tell them to punch themselves.

Anyway, who are you, and why have you been stalking Anna and other regular readers all these years?

Anonymous said...

7:44am again, if you post almost daily and 99% of your posts are trying to provoke someone, is it a surprise you'd get a negative response?

Honestly, anyone wasting so much time over many years trolling here daily should punch themselves. Or seek professional help.

Please give credit when it is due. Potomac Store broke this store yesterday.

Not sure who "Potomac Store" is, but I'm pretty sure it was just a press release.

Press releases aren't scoops. I'm sorry.

Article here:

Unfortunately this site does not use time stamps, but they posted this article on their Facebook page 14 hours ago.

The article also scoops Dyer on some Montgomery Mall news.

8:29am a press release sent to multiple sites, including Dyer's, isn't a "scoop". It's a press release.

I'd say responding to every critical comment within 2 minutes is pretty danged obsessive.

this was actually on the moco show website first before any of these sites but all of them get their information from a press release for this so there is no scoop

Anonymous said...

Thankfully, Dyer is not wasting time spamming obscure blogs about posting a press release first..lol

I broke this huge chain store opening on my Tumblr first. Give me credit Potomac.

I wish we had more local media putting as much passion into covering and investigating our local government as they do fighting over chain store press releases.

9:03am right, like when Sears was reported to be closing a year ago without calling them?

And if you keep badgering someone, you'll probably get a negative response. I guess you want that.

Anna said...

I just got back from Wildwood (Balducci's to be specific) and yeah, parking is crazy...always has been.

Are they still planning on building residential in the back lot?

Dyer is so big, bad and threatening, so why do you visit his site multiple times a day?

Regular readers are dismayed by your weird comments. Are you ok? Concerned about you.

Anna said...

9:20AM, let me turn that back to you...why do you visit his site multiple times a day?

Anna said...

I never said "big, bad and threatening" I never would...unless I was writing fairy tales.
Sounds like projection on your part.

Anonymous said...

9:28am why do you keep coming back day after day?
And you just badger Dyer trying to get a response. And then complain about a negative response.

Anna said...

Deflecting and not answering my question. what are you hiding?

9:31AM I really do not think that is any of your business. Why do you think it is?

Anonymous said...

Well, mixed use building. Nightmare.

9:37am you are a man thirsty for attention from Robert. And you obviously have personal problems. Get help.

Anna said...

I use my name. I tell the truth. I'm sorry if that bothers you.
I've never posted anything I couldn't or wouldn't say directly face-to-face.

And you? You're swiping at me cloaked in anonymity.
I'd love for you to tell me that face-to-face.

What inner demons makes someone unable to believe I'm female?

10:08am you're using a fake name.
That's why you'll never just email Dyer privately.

And you certainly don't want to be associated with some of the defamatory or just creepy things you've posted here. I don't blame you.

Why is this any of your business?

12:05pm stop it. I feel threatened by you and your tone.
Stop threatening me like this.
You're hiding behind a fake name threatening me.

"Anonymous" sure seems to believe that Anna knows exactly who he is. Otherwise he wouldn't feel "threatened".

12:29pm you're using fake names to threaten me now. What did I do to you to deserve this?

Stop threatening me.

Way, way off topic as per usual

Jeez Louise...chill...

It's not a fake name.
It always comes back not believing I'm who I say I am.
Ever since I started posting with my name, I post under this name, exclusively. Period.

The landlord here is just plain greedy. The parking was already a mess, and adding more stores will make it worse. I'll be avoiding it.

Another is the Cabin John mall by Seven Locks and Tuckerman. They took a big chunk of parking lot from the front and put in more stores there instead. Now that place is a parking mess too. There's good parking in the back, but it's difficult to get to the stores from there.

Anonymous said...

And the back of Cabin John is going to be blown up. Major Development already approved back there.

This will not make it past a year..

3D Manaco closes at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda
http://robertdyer.blogspot.com/2017/12/3d-manaco-closes-at-westfield.html

Robert Dyer: "Don't you find that not only discriminatory, but strange and suspicious? Why would Kojo not want to hear from all voices in Montgomery County, instead of the same stew of characters parroting the MoCo cartel development agenda?"

Robert Dyer: "Kojo welcomes him [Dan Reed] with open arms on his program. Surely he can welcome a pioneer of hyperlocal news and longtime civic activist - and proven skilled debater - onto his program. Or does he just want to hear one side of the story from MR. Reed and Bethesda Magazine, the relentless positivity about our inept Council and failed agenda?"

I can actually debate, which is why Floreen, Leventhal and Riemer didn't have the guts to show up to a packed room of their constituents to debate me in Olney in 2014.
