Louisiana Kitchen to close in Bethesda
Louisiana Kitchen has celebrated its last Mardi Gras at 4907 Cordell Avenue. The restaurant's owners have announced their final day of operation will be March 13, 2019. Carlos Arana and Jose Blanco have owned the business for more than a decade, and it is one of the few Cajun restaurants in the area. It's rumored that the next tenant of the space will be a Cuban restaurant. The decision appears to have been made only recently, as they had just installed a brand new awning a couple of months ago.

I've been breakfasting there for ten years. I never cared much for their dinner options.
I am sorry to see them go; I've had many great meals there over the years. The staff has always been friendly and welcoming. Part of old Bethesda.
i will miss this wonderful restaurant

Sad to see them go. I got carry-out from them on Friday and their gumbo was great as usual. I did notice it was pretty quiet in the restaurant when I showed up at 6pm.. so I think business was just down. Too bad.
Let's be real...the food was OKAY. It wasn't anything like their days over Bethesda Ave. towards the last year or so. During the last year the place would be mostly empty which I saw as a sign their time was coming.
It was your false report that Popeye's was coming to where Smashburger used to be, that killed off their business.
8:17am Sears.
It's really sad they're closing. Affordable food, nice staff, one of the few places open for brunch in Bethesda. I remember when they opened on Bethesda, Avenue more than 25 years ago. Bethesda is turning out to be a difficult restaurant market.
The food and the way it was run was way better with the original at the old location across from Bethesda Crab House... The Beignets will be missed tho'.

12:05 PM lol...other sites claimed Sears was to close a year before it actually did. The same sites said Payless was closed a year or more ago.
Tastee Diner didn't sell because Woodmont Grill wouldn't sell. Dyer's reporting was confirmed by Marriott spox at a public community meeting. A real, live person. The type that should have been consulted before claiming Sears was closing in early 2018 :)

Still with the tired distortion of facts re the Sears closing (they filed it with the county, then changed their minds) or how Payless itself announced they were closing their stores, then opted to keep some open.
Y'all are just a bunch of children not playing nicely in the sandbox.
Yes, this is really sad news. Louisiana Kitchen was one of the last local reasonably priced restaurants in Bethesda with delicious food. Thanks so much to the owners and staff, you will be missed!!!
Awww, Robbie... you got #Scooped again.

6:27: You tell me I'm "scooped" about Louisiana Kitchen closing, and replacement by Cuban restaurant, in the comments section of my article days ago breaking the news on both.
Congratulations: You are the ultimate dumbass.

The food at Louisana Kitchen was the worst I've had in Bethesda. As a previous commenter noted, nothing like their food in their previous Bethesda avenue location. Breakfast was OK, but everything else was abysmal.
