Electrical problems zap Faryab again

Faryab Afghan Cuisine was forced to close once more last night by electrical problems. The issues appeared to have been fixed last week, allowing the restaurant to reopen Friday evening. But the downtown Bethesda restaurant was dark again Tuesday night. Stay tuned for updates.

Electrons will not replace us

No electric? That sure is some authentic Afghan.

I'm skeptical. There are 24-hour electrician services (John C. Flood is one company for example), and there are also 24-hour restaurant appliance fixing services since the restaurant industry needs it.

Based on Dyer's photo, there were no service people there at the time to fix the supposed "problem".

How often have you seen a larger chain restaurant shut down for reasons like this?

The only way this is an electrical problem is if it's either:
a) Pepco shut us off for not paying our bills
or
b) We are understaffed and the guy who comes to turn on the lights each day called in sick.

Ready to take bets that this place will shut down permanently within the next month?

10:11am take whatever they say with a grain of salt. Most restaurants don't want to admit they're closing.

Remember Bethesda Barbecue telling other legacy media outlets they're not closing while the toilets were being rolled out of the restaurant?

11:14 AM I remember when multiple sites filed false reports that Sears was closing- a year before they did. And neither person actually spoke to a real, live person at Sears.

I also remember Robert Dyer breaking news on the actual, correct closure date.

what actually happened was the moco show reported that sears filed a plant closure notice with the maryland department of labor and then bethesda beat (you) reported that sears would close. And after that sears put out a statement that they accidentally filed the report (ya right!)! !
