IT IS A MYSTERY
Scaffolding around parts of Bethesda Row have been up in different sections for months as they periodically apply sealants to the windows on the upper floors. I’m surprised you haven’t noticed, or commented on this before. This is evidence that Federal Realty properly maintains its structures, and does so in a way that protects pedestrians.
Maybe it's christmas decorations?
5:18: I've written about many maintenance projects around Bethesda Row over the years.
Looks like crap!

Then why did you write “ Extensive scaffolding and protective covering for pedestrians appeared along Woodmont Avenue at Bethesda Row on Wednesday“ when if fact, scaffolding has been on parts of Bethesda Row, along Elm Street, for at least a month. At least to me, your blog post seemed like it stated that this is breaking news as a new occurrence, when if fact it has been an on going activity around Bethesda Row for quite some time.
Your post simply could have stated that scaffolding has now moved to Woodmont, but instead it seems intended to sensationalize a very basic and normal activity to maintain a development. Bethesda Row must be doomed...look, scaffolding! Maybe the sky is falling in Bethesda Row, and they put up scaffolding to protect the rich as they flee to NoVa.
I love how things suddenly "appear", seemingly without any human effort involved.
