Marcus closed at Bethesda Row

Fashion boutique Marcus has closed at Bethesda Row. The Bethesda Lane shop has been cleaned out already. There was some optimism when entrepreneur Marcus Lemonis took over this location, as his business sense has earned him a spot on cable television. Montgomery County's moribund economy, and the flight of the rich that has sapped many upscale businesses of their customer base, were apparently too much to overcome even for Lemonis.

LOL

Hogan has backed our county's biggest mass transit project, the Purple Line.

Hogan has areas to criticize, but he saved our biggest mass transit project.

Doesn't make sense to criticize that, right?

8:47, it makes perfect sense to criticize that. The Purple Line happened *in spite* of Hogan, not because of him. The only thing he "saved" the project from was himself. What silly revisionism.

Odd that Dyer didn't mention his report on the store opening less than two years ago.

"Runway becomes Marcus at Bethesda Row"

"The former Courage b boutique at 7125 Bethesda Lane has its second new name in less than a year. Acquired by entrepreneur and CNBC star Marcus Lemonis, the store became Runway last August. As of this weekend, it was officially rebranded as Marcus...It's interesting, because the store has technically been open continuously since 2012, a real accomplishment in a competitive market by the founders of Courage b and Lemonis. They've been able to stay above water without the cache of a recognizable brand like Lily Pulitzer [closed December 2019] or Kate Spade [closed April 2019] over the door."

"This is like 'One Burger At Community'. Federal Realty is the new Greenhill."

Robert contacted me and we discussed the closure of Marcus in detail.

Cheers.

I love The Profit. Not all of his businesses do well but he's legit and loves flag and country.

Even Marcus can't remain viable in a moribund town.

The shop had cute clothes *before* it was rebranded. I used to buy stuff there all the time.
