Santa Claus will ride through southwest Bethesda with help from Glen Echo Fire Department again in 2020

Even the coronavirus can't stop Santa Claus. He will suit up and ride atop a fire truck once again this year on the streets of southwest Bethesda. To protect Santa, firefighters and the public, fans of St. Nick are asked to view the annual street tour from their homes and individual yards this year.

Residents are asked to not gather on sidewalks or curbs in groups to watch Santa pass by this year to observe social distancing protocols. Santa Claus will not be able to stop this year, and the GEFD will not be collecting donations during the event, but you can support them by donating online from the safety of your home.

Here is Santa's schedule for this year - if bad weather strikes, Santa will return to your neighborhood on one of the make-up days:

Monday, December 14: Kenwood, Kenwood Park

Tuesday, December 15: Glen Mar Park, Sumner

Wednesday, December 16: Bannockburn, Merrimack Park, Somerset, Brookdale, Woodburn
