Strong-arm rape reported in Bethesda

Montgomery County police responded to a report of a strong-arm rape in Bethesda Monday night. The assault was reported in a "park" in the 9600 block of Montgomery Drive around 8:00 PM. Crime data does not specify the park being referred to, but the Bethesda Trolley Trail runs along that street.

Dear all comment readers: If you don't carry a Taser or Pepper Spray/Gel with you, you need to ask yourself why that is.... and then get some and carry it.

It's too bad MD is a "May Issue" State for CCW Permits... That shouldn't stop you from getting a gun, learning how to use it properly with private lessons from an NRA-Certified Instructor, and then conceal carry in the jurisdictions that you can. You may even find it a good idea to move there instead.

Waze shows Fleming Park is near that street number.

So, let me get this straight. Crime is the Democrats' fault, and arming yourself is the solution?

Run for your lives!

Democrat policies have destroyed the once Safe and bucolic Bethesda
Democrats destroy every city
And then they move to red states

Anonymous at 12:26 PM: I carry a box cutter from ACE when I walk on the Trolley Trail, but it is clumsy to open. Where can I purchase a Taser and Pepper Spray/Gel? By the way, I always walk in the daytime, never at night. I'm also looking to move out of MD, but still trying to figure out where to.

Anonymous at 7:46 AM: With a GOP governor like Hogan, who is acting like Stalin ("wear the damn mask," without any credible evidence that wearing masks prevents the spread of the virus), what difference will voting Republican make in practice?

@8:14 PM: I am a legal gun owner with a CCW Permit in multiple states and I also carry Pepper Spray Gel with me. I vote Republican. I'm not the problem, and I've chosen to legally protect myself. You are right though, the Democrats own this, which means you do.

@9:59 PM: Bethesda is becoming Baltimore. Elrich is running it right into the ground.

@8:02 AM: Box cutter is a bad idea. Lose that. It doesn't have enough effective range to be safely used anyway. You need to be able to repel the attacker(s) before they get danger close to you. You can purchase a Taser from Taser.com . You can also purchase Pepper Spray/Gel online at sabrered.com and from mace.com . Amazon also carries these products. Atlantic Guns in Rockville also has a selection of these products in addition to firearms. Make you comply with the local laws when making a online purchase. I carry Sabre Red Pepper Gel on my gun belt as part of my conceal carry kit. Gel has the advantage of not blowing back in your face when discharged if it happens to catch a gust of high wind. It also has greater range than the spray. The tradeoff is that you have to aim it a bit better as it's a stream, not a spray mist cloud. Pick something you can comfortably carry as a habit. Hope this helps!

@8:02 AM - Hogan is a milquetoast RINO who's attempting to have a relevant political future in 2024. That's not the real immediate problem. The real problem at hand is people like Elrich and the rest of the MoCo Cartel which have run the County so poorly, even before this COVID Pandemic.

No, the real problem is People who vote for Elrichs.

@9:44 AM - Many thanks for the information on where to purchase pepper spray and a Taser.

@11:35 AM - Hogan is a Democrat who runs as a Republican because the MD Democratic party is too far left for him to win in a primary. He is a fool if he thinks he could win in Republican primaries outside of MD. As for the rest of the Republican party, they can't even protect the integrity of elections, so they are useless at stopping the Democratic party from destroying the rest of the country like Elrich et al are already doing to MoCo.
