Winter puts Bethesda Streetery in deep freeze (Photos)

Freezing temperatures froze out the Bethesda Streetery dining area on Norfolk Avenue last night. At the height of the dinner hour, 6:00 PM, tables there were empty, showing the challenge ahead for Montgomery County restaurants this winter.

Hey Dems: Let me know when you see Elrich or any other members of the corrupt MoCo Cartel eating outside at these tables. That's right, they won't ever be there.

What they're doing to these businesses is simply disgraceful. I expect more to close in the coming weeks/months.... Layoffs always seem to happen around the holidays and the new year.

You own it.

Hey Anonymous: the restaurants are all open for indoor dining. Though they are technically operating at a mandated reduced capacity, no one is being turned away at the door because a restaurant is full. Don't pin this on the government. People are *choosing* to exercise their freedom to make smart choices.

There's an easy solution to that, go inside and eat. Nothing to fear. No data anywhere that suggests eating in is a danger or risk.

4:15 - Your comment is 100% accurate. Eat in and often or your favorite places will be gone.

@4:05 AM

Just because the restaurants are open doesn't mean they'll stay in business. You know that.

"Technically"? Whatever that means. PassionFish closed because as its Owner said: At 25%, “we wound up with a 40-seat restaurant, and we just can’t make it work,” he said. My heart breaks for this Owner.

I can absolutely pin this on the government. They made this regulation and they enforce it... and no, people aren't "choosing". The choices are being made for them by a government entity that's completely out of touch with the suffering of small business and restaurant owners in Montgomery County.

Like I said, you own it.

Not according to what Elrich just said if the Council signs off on it: https://wtop.com/coronavirus/2020/12/maryland-coronavirus-update-december-9/

"Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich proposed new coronavirus restrictions Wednesday, including shutting down indoor dining and cutting capacity limits in retail shops."
