Melina, a Greek restaurant, is coming to Pike & Rose. The latest dining concept from the team behind the CAVA empire, Melina will take up a prime location in the ground floor of Federal Realty's new office building at 909 Rose Avenue. That gives the restaurant high visibility from Rockville Pike.
Melina has a liquor license hearing scheduled for March 4, 2021. If you want a sneak peek at what may be on the menu, check out the tantalizing photos on its Instagram account. Here's a look at the interior so far, and as you can see, there's quite a ways to go before opening day.

I wish they'd open another location of Melina where "The Riggsby" is supposed to go (and where Kapnos used to be) in Bethesda.
"The Riggsby" looks completely dead in the water. I don't think it'll ever open as there's no apparent activity at the construction site. Besides that, the menu at The Riggsby in DC shows that it's very overpriced for what you get.
Between "Prima" closing and "The Riggsby" looking like it'll ever open, Michael Schlow is definitely in a rough patch.
