New Bethesda Trader Joe's update (Photos)

Steady progress continues on the interior fit-out of the new Trader Joe's grocery store at 7900 Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda. Not only are there more cases and shelving installed, but some of them are already lit. It looks like some flooring has been laid down, as well. Trader Joe's is the retail anchor of the new 8001 Woodmont development. The existing Trader Joe's at 6831 Wisconsin remains open.

Will this store have underground parking? I assume so. While that's never ideal, it'll be a major improvement over their Chevy Chase store.

What flooring are you describing? It looks like 100% polished and sealed concrete floors. I believe the wood is decorative paneling on the walls.

Trader Joe’s typically does a large interior mural, specific to each location, so it will be interesting to see what they come up with.

Everyone, please continue tipping your grocery cashiers during this time. They are on the front lines.

This is coming together pretty quickly. Can't wait for the new store to open.

I hope they keep the original location open too.

6:22: If you look in the picture of the lighted display case, the floor directly in front of it is dull, but the floor closer to the camera is glossy.

5:32: There is an underground garage, but I haven't seen how many spaces are set aside for the retail customers yet.

Well better than bezos foods or the awful amazon grocery store but nothing beats Safeway and Giant

12:18 - Whole Foods could improve a little I agree. But that Amazon grocery in Chevy Chase Center is the most horrible and embarrassing excuse for a grocery store I've ever seen. I had such high hopes but it's beyond awful and there's absolutely zero reason to ever go there again. If Amazon intends to disrupt the traditional grocery market, which could use a little mix-up, they are going to need to try and awful lot harder than that.
