New public art on Auburn Avenue in Bethesda (Photos)


The newest piece of public art in downtown Bethesda is a building. A mural is being painted onto an office building at 4927 Auburn Avenue. The artist is Michael Owen. Here is a series of photos as the work progressed over the last week, in chronological order:

I know that art is subjective, but yikes this is bad! They turned a handsome brick building in to a chaotic mess of weird ideas. Falling joists, painted on the wall? This mural is neither cohesive or interesting to explore.

Looks like ugly graffiti from a 3rd world country or NYC and super tacky and speaks to an increase in crime
