The Hampden House project continues to gather steam in downtown Bethesda. Demolition fencing has now been erected around the existing office building at 7216 Wisconsin Avenue. Dumpsters have also been moved into place. Interior demolition has already been completed, according to Hampden House developer B.F. Saul. A sheltered pedestrian walkway was constructed in front of the building last month.

Looking forward to having this project get underway. Hopefully the ground floor retail does well. The success of Tatte nearby is a good sign.
It will be fun to watch this landmark go up, and it will be great to have new Class A retail and restaurant space, especially facing the new plaza and fountain on the west side.
With the new Lincoln dealership on Wisconsin, the new plaza next to the Wilson and Elm will be completely sided by new architecture and storefronts, all facing the new southern Metro entrance and the new Purple Line station.
