Fox 5 updates news ticker outside Bethesda studios (Photos)

Fox 5
has updated the digital news ticker on the plaza below its studios at 7272 Wisconsin Avenue in downtown Bethesda. It now has improved graphics, and displays the current time and temperature. At least one Bethesda-Chevy Chase resident is not a fan, though. A computer print-out sign has been stuck to a barrel near the TV station reading, "Fox News is Russian Propaganda."

I was wondering when the anti-Fox folks would start to make a stink. It does seem odd to me that Fox chose an ultra-blue city like Bethesda and Montgomery County to place their local news offices.

The ultra-conservative news aside, I kind of like the kinetic quality of the news ticker. A little bit of Times Square in Downtown Bethesda. Once again, it seems this area, with the Red and future Purple Line station entrances, the future BRT station and the Capital Crescent Trail and 425 space bike parking deck, is becoming the epicenter of Bethesda. The old Metro Plaza area seems to have become quite sleepy, with very little activity. Once the new transit stations open, it will be even more deserted. I see the master plan for the Bethesda Circulator does not even propose a stop retail in the bus bay area.

I see that Brookfield has requested a three year extension on the completion of their 4 Bethesda Metro residential and retail tower approval process. Never a good sign.

It's NOT Fox News. It's a Local Fox TV Station. They are not necessarily the same thing !

It's been updated to look more like a trump campaign poster. Of course.

One of "progressivism's" main traits is intolerance for any opposing viewpoint. One of the many reasons I am moving away from here.

Fox5 is owned and operated by Fox Broadcasting. Yes, Fox5 News is local, and operates out of the new Bethesda News room, providing news, weather and sports reporting, but it is still part of the hyper-conservative Fox Broadcasting syndicate, owned by Rupert Murdock. I can assure you that that news ticker is not just local news.

4:48 AM - good to see you are moving because you aren't tolerating the opposing viewpoints on the Fox news ticker!
