Armed robbery on Elm Street in Bethesda

Montgomery County police responded to a report of an armed robbery at a business on Elm Street in Bethesda Thursday afternoon. The robbery was reported at an "appliance/electronics" store in the 4900 block of Elm Street at 2:40 PM. AT&T is the only store on that block that would fall into that category. An AT&T store in Rockville was robbed later that same evening.

What's the leftists excuse now? Happening everyday in the middle of the day. Vote as if your life depends on it because people like Elrich, Moore, Raskin & VanHollen only want your money and couldn't care less about law abiding taxpayers.

Archie Bunker had the right idea on that episode about the solution to stop airplane hijackings...

Robert, this must be fake news. Didn't you know there is virtually no crime in MoCo.

Retail establishments have always had the right to have a firearm on premises even prior to the now landmark SCOTUS ruling. These people need to be shot which would send an awfully loud signal to these lawless A-holes committing crime all over the place. The anti-gun folks here can say this is the safest and Red states have less crime, etc. But if more store owners did what that old man in CA, who owns his own liquor store did, thugs would think twice.

Don't dems realize by now the damage being purposely done by the Bolsheviks THEY elected? How much proof do they need that things are not getting better, and not even staying the same?

A quick scan of the B controlled press turns up zilch on this. Not surprising.

8:07 - best comment I've read in quite since time

" These people need to be shot which would send an awfully loud signal to these lawless A-holes committing crime"

You are correct, sir.

Time to stop living in denial about this. It's happening right here, right now. Go get trained and then get your MD Wear & Carry Permit so you can defend yourself against this kind of crime. I have and I won't be a victim to it. You do not want to try this on me.

@7:40AM: Their excuse is that it's still your fault. As I said earlier, I conceal carry in MD because I can no longer depend on the MoCo police to be there when needed. It's become clear that MoCo Council Leadership isn't taking public safety seriously. I refuse to be a victim to their woke and failing policies. So I am my own first responder. I wish it didn't have to be this way, but it's the way they made it.

Thank you 5:20. I feel it my duty to push back against the falsehoods peddled by the Left.

Now that Bethes--Magazine decided to omit the ability to comment in their new website format, Robert Dyer's 4 news sites are the only places to comment on events and politics in Montgomery County not behind a paywall.

Robert Dyer's blogs, the only place for local news for a county with a population of over 1 million people.

Bethesda Row is a specifically targeted destination for criminals now. That's the reputation it has achieved if a retail store can be targeted/robbed like this in the middle of the day with such brazenness. You can thank the woke MoCo Council, its failed policies and all the people who voted for these clowns for getting us to this point. It will keep happening and it's such a shame nothing effective is being done to put a stop to it. I conceal carry (in MD and other states) only to protect myself and people I'm with. It's not my responsibility to be, nor will I be a crime-fighter. However, I will not be a victim and I will not let my family or friends be victims of the MoCo Council's public safety failures.

7:21 - Indeed. I'm waiting for the HQL lawsuit to pick up. MD Shall Issue is the plaintiff on that and are challenging, rightly so, the burdensome regulations of the HQL. Get trained, yes. Pay fees, fine. But don't make it cost $400 and up which is on purpose obviously. How does that help the poor folks in more crime infested areas? It doesn't which is the point. When that judgement comes in and knocks out the HQL then I'll go thru whatever is left to do and get my wear and carry.

If you find yourself fantasizing (incessantly commenting) about the opportunity to pull a gun and kill some unsuspecting thief, please get some mental health help. It's not normal or healthy.

Yeah, better to let criminals do as they please because politicians have determined that the law abiding population is expendable.

@1:23 PM: MSAR over in Upper Marlboro, MD offers the HQL course for $40.00 if they have course availability. (LiveScan fingerprints are $65.00 and the State Application Fee is $50.00.) FreeState in Middle River, MD costs $175 for the HQL, with fingerprints included. Gilbert offers the HQL Course for $102 (Course, Rental/Ammo). All of these cost quite a bit less than what you mentioned. CCW Courses (MD Wear & Carry, etc.) are an entirely separate thing. The application fee for a MD CCW is $75.00. (You'll also need to get LiveScan fingerprinted and take a CCW Course/Range Test). Other states have their own requirements, but note that there can be reciprocity between states for permit coverage.

@4:17 AM: If you expect me to find your projection insulting, please rest assured that I don't. Drawing a concealed gun isn't something I'd ever want to do, but you wouldn't know the first thing about it. My warning to back off comes first. My call to the police comes next. My pepper spray comes after that. If there's no other option to protect myself/my family or to escape after all that, I will then draw my firearm to counter a legitimate threat. If the threat continues to advance on me or my family despite that, I will put two shots center mass. Maybe you missed the part where I specifically said that I'm not a crimefighter. I don't care if some store gets robbed or not. That's not my problem and I'm not there to protect them. However, a thief will never be a threat to me or my family. Never.

Bethesda Row is turning into Aspen Hill. You can thank the MoCo Council and the people who voted for those clowns.

@4:17 AM: If you find yourself in denial about how bad the crime has become in MoCo, you might want to take a moment for self-reflection to realize how many lives you've destroyed and how many people you've hurt through your ignorance and lack of compassion.

@12:13 PM - Thank you! The majority of the commentors here are a bunch of RWNJ's yearning for the return of vigilante justice of #45 and the insurrection. If you don't like it here, take your sorry ash down to Florida, DeSiko welcomes your residence with open arms.

8:47, you and people like you are a big part of the reason I am moving. Clueless, sanctimonious people who think they are morally superior to the "nutjobs" (i.e. fellow citizens) and don't even have an elementary understanding about reality. Yes I think I will be much happier in Florida where I won't get harangued by a Karen because my mask isn't pulled up high enough or taxed up the wazoo to pay for an endless stream of foreign "refugees" or treated like a second class citizen because I am not a member of an "oppressed" group. Give me your address and I'll mail you a postcard. Oh, and DeSantis (or Trump) will be the next POTUS. You'd better hope its Trump.

@8:47 AM: Boasting about a community's high crime level as a reason for people "who don't like it here" should leave is quite the hot take. Answer me this: Are you woke enough to have a "Gun Free Zone" sign on your home?
