Silver and Sons Barbecue is now open at 5362 Westbard Avenue at the new Westbard Square development in Bethesda. Chef-owner Jarrad Silver's fusion of American barbecue with recipes, side dishes, baked goods, and sauces that draw on Mediterranean and Jewish influences has been a big hit aboard his food truck. That success appears to have now translated to the bricks-and-mortar location.
Initial reviews since this past weekend's opening have delivered a perfect 5-star rating to Silver and Sons on Google Reviews, with one reviewer declaring it "the best BBQ I have ever had," and another characterizing the food as "absolutely incredible." Several reviewers cited the restaurant's friendly service. Takeout orders are the primary focus here, as indoor seating is very limited. Silver and Sons is open from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM Wednesday through Saturday, 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Sundays, and closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

I haven't tried this place but am familiar with their food truck. Can someone confirm whether this is traditional BBQ or not? It's ok if it isn't. But if memory serves, this isn't the BBQ most people will be thinking of such as Memphis style, TX, St. Louis style, etc. Again, a different twist on Q could be great and it sounds like folks are liking it. Just curious what's being offered here.
Man up!! Go down there and try some of it.
If you are familiar with it, why are you asking if it’s traditional or not?
Exactly, this guy talks just to hear himself talk
5:42 - I think you're referring to my comment. I'm simply asking for a review. Man up? I'm not sure how that statement fits here.
JAC: I can only say that this BBQ Take-Out Restaurant is owned and run by a Moderately Religious Jewish Family so Pork is not on the Menu. It is not most people’s idea of Traditional BBQ but I look forward to trying some of the Lamb Shoulder, Brisket and Pulled Chicken this week sometime, to see what it tastes like……….
5:52 - I thought I had heard that. Sounds really good. Thanks for that! I would argue that a traditional BBQ joint would also do well. Most don't execute that did very well. But if done right, it's a huge money maker. This will be great and different which is good too
10:44 - Familar doesn't mean I have a clear idea of what kind of BBQ they are serving. 5:52 answered the question. Nothing more to say except I hope to try soon.
No pork but open Saturdays, maybe it's free that day? Lol
By the way, just because a BBQ Take-Out Restaurant serves Food with a Kosher Jewish Theme doesn’t mean it has to be Closed on Saturdays.
We all make choices……………
I had their “Brisket” yesterday evening. Pretty Damn Good !!
